Transit needs on Angels docket

PUBLIC MEETING: Angels Camp City Council, 6 p.m. Tuesday, Angels Fire House, 1404 Vallecito Road, Angels Camp.

The Angels Camp City Council will hold a public hearing Tuesday to get feedback on unmet transit needs.

The hearing is being held at the request of the Calaveras Council of Governments,  Calaveras County’s transportation planning agency.

CCOG is responsible for implementing the Transportation Development Act. TDA legislation requires that each year an “Unmet Transit Needs Hearing” be conducted to collect feedback on existing transportation services, according to Amber Collins, CCOG transportation planner.

“This public forum also provides the CCOG an opportunity to document the concerns of those individuals who are currently using transit services or are unable to do so because current services don’t meet their needs,” Collins wrote to the council.

Public comment forms are also being circulated on Calaveras Transit buses, and feedback is being accepted at www.calacog.org.
