TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

FRIDAY

2:14 p.m., traffic accident — A possible hit-and-run with no injuries was reported on Mono Way.

4:09 p.m., theft — Gasoline was stolen on North Arbona Circle.

5:10 p.m., hazardous situation — A tour bus bottomed out on South Washington Street while turning into a parking lot. The bus was blocking traffic before it was moved.

5:59 p.m., suspicious circumstances — Flames were seen coming from a South Green Street balcony that were later confirmed to be from a grill.

9:39 p.m., public intoxication — A woman was standing in the road on Restano Way flashing and yelling at cars.

SATURDAY

9:23 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A man called 911 and said his lover had just been shot on Sanguinetti Road. Further investigation revealed the report to be unfounded.

1:11 p.m., driving under the influence — A cab driver hit a mailbox at North Stewart Street and Columbia Way.

5:10 p.m., theft — An employee at a Sanguinetti Road store reported an attempted shoplifting.

5:43 p.m., theft — A woman was detained at a South Washington Street store for shoplifting.

SUNDAY

10:08 a.m., trespass — An unknown female was walking through a yard on North Stewart Street picking flowers.

3:37 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A man and a woman were arguing in the middle of the road on West Stockton Street. 

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

FRIDAY

11:31 a.m., Tuolumne — Multiple guns were reported stolen from a Madrone Street residence.

1:02 p.m., La Grange — A horse was loose on Highway 132.

2:22 p.m., Sonora area — A woman on Lynn Lane reported receiving fraudulent checks from a secret shopper company.

6:14 p.m., Sonora area — A suspicious truck was reported near a water pumping station on Tuolumne Road.

10:39 p.m., Sonora area — A large tree was down on Crystal Falls Drive near Longeway Road.

SATURDAY

11:37 a.m., Sonora area — An argument was reported between a man and a woman on Madrone Circle over some tools.

2:09 p.m., Twain Harte — A woman called law enforcement because an evicted tenant on East Avenue would not leave. The tenant said she had nowhere to take her cats.

2:11 p.m., Tuolumne — Damage to a window was reported at a Chestnut Avenue restaurant.

3:24 p.m., Sonora area — Two people were arguing over the ownership of a dog on Feather River Drive.

5:37 p.m., Jamestown — A woman said an electronic tablet was stolen from her purse on Victoria Place.

5:48 p.m., La Grange — A woman on Lozano Street said she was being harassed by an ex-landlord.

7:46 p.m., Columbia — A woman reported harassment from a landlord on Cedarcrest Road.

10:21 p.m., Sonora area — A loud party was reported on Murphy Road, with the participants blowing up things and scaring horses in the area.

SUNDAY

9:12 a.m., Sonora area — A man was speeding on Mono Way at Greenley Road. He became agitated because he was transporting his wife to the hospital to have a baby.

10:11 a.m., Tuolumne — Someone told a man that “he better get out of town” after the man had reported threats at a business on North Tuolumne Road. The man didn’t feel threatened. 

12:14 p.m., East Sonora — Cows escaped and were getting into neighboring yards at Curtis Creek Circle and Barron Ranch Road. 

12:53 p.m., Columbia — A woman said a man was in her yard on Quarry Road, and he told her that he was looking for a wild cat.

5:31 p.m., Twain Harte — A man on Cedar Pines Avenue called 911 and asked for help on his taxes.

9:24 p.m., Columbia — A man was on Parrotts Ferry Road yelling “don’t shoot me” and “why are they after me?”

FRIDAY

9:02 p.m., Sonora — William Daniel Downes, 38, of the 10000 block of Highway 49, Sonora, was booked on suspicion of possession of a narcotic as well as misdemeanor charge of suspicion of driving under the influence of a drug after an arrest on Highway 49 at Springfield Road.

SATURDAY

9:30 a.m., Sonora — Dustin Leon Miller, 34, of the 19200 block of Rawhide Road, Jamestown, was booked on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and bringing a controlled substance into a prison or jail after an arrest at the Tuolumne County Jail.

1:52 p.m., Sonora — Sara Elizabeth Stevens, 27, of the 17100 block of Alderman Road, Sonora, was booked on suspicion of willful infliction of corporal injury after an arrest at her residence.

FRIDAY

2:54 a.m., Jamestown — Joseph Anthony Matthews, 52, of the 2100 block of Alvarado Street, San Leandro, was booked after an arrest on Highway 49 at High School Road.

3 p.m., Tuolumne — James Daniel Faifua, 32, of the 18800 block of Fir Drive, Twain Harte, was booked after an arrest at Chestnut and Carter streets.

SATURDAY

1:56 p.m., Sonora — Robert Michael Dugent, 43, of the 12700 block of Chukar Circle, was booked after an arrest on South Green Street.

9:30 p.m., Twain Harte — John Anthony Amabile, 68, of the 1600 block of 6th Street, Los Banos, was booked after an arrest on Twain Harte Drive at Tiffeni Drive.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

FRIDAY

7:11 a.m., Arnold — A door was damaged on Meadowview Road.

8:08 a.m., Valley Springs — A fight was reported on Baldwin Street.

8:27 a.m., Valley Springs — An altercation between parents occurred at Toyon Middle School.

9:28 a.m., Copperopolis — Someone disabled a Mitchell Lake Lane resident’s wind chimes.

10:34 a.m., San Andreas — A theft was reported on West St. Charles Street.

12:23 p.m., Burson — A gun and some coins were stolen from an Arapaho Way garage.

2:55 p.m., Valley Springs — A fight was reported on Chestnut Way.

7:30 p.m., San Andreas — A car fire was reported on Highway 12 at Central Hill Road.

SATURDAY

8:13 a.m., Mokelumne Hill — Someone moved into a Highway 26 residence without permission.

8:32 a.m., Campo Seco — A donkey was in the road near Penn Mine Road.

9:20 a.m., Valley Springs — Someone was sleeping behind a Highway 12 store.

10:01 a.m., Valley Springs — Someone cut the chain on a gate and stole items from a barn on Double Springs Road.

11:41 a.m., San Andreas — Checks were forged on an active account on Hildebrandt Street.

2:45 p.m., Valley Springs — A dirt bike was stolen from inside a garage on Anderson Street.

MONDAY

12:22 a.m., Angels Camp — Someone walked up the road with a bright light on Tryon Road.

3:45 p.m., Valley Springs — Stephen Jacob Smith, 24, of the 200 block of Sequoia Street, was booked on suspicion of drug possession, after an arrest at his residence.

6:20 p.m., Valley Springs — Juan Ruben Arazia, 52, of the 9000 block of Parrish Lane, Stockton, was booked after an arrest on Highway 26, west of Heinemann Drive.

The California Highway Patrol reported the following:

FRIDAY

8:00 a.m.,  Angels Camp —A motorist lost control and his car overturned several times down an embankment at Highway 49, south of Carson Hill Road. Driver and passenger were transported to Sonora Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
