TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

FRIDAY

5:02 p.m., suspicious circumstances — Police investigated a blue plastic jug with a hose sticking out near a Greenley Road apartment complex.

5:18 p.m., vandalism — Graffiti was reported under a bridge on South Shepherd Street.

6:38 p.m., theft — A man said his wallet was stolen after he left it inside a Stockton Street restaurant.

7:39 p.m., weapons violation — A man showed a gun to a group of teenagers in a Sanguinetti Road parking lot.

SATURDAY

7:57 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A vehicle was broken into on Greenley Road.

9:53 a.m., harassment — A Morning Star Drive resident reported receiving phone calls every morning from an unknown caller who does not speak on the other end.

6:25 p.m., warrant arrest — Sonora Police, with help from the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office and California Highway Patrol, were looking for a parolee on Linoberg Street who violated parole.

8:04 p.m., fraudulent activities — A woman tried to use a counterfeit $100 bill at a Stockton Street restaurant.

SUNDAY

8:27 a.m., fraudulent activities — Someone in Sonora reported that a woman was cashing checks fraudulently. Police were unable to confirm if any checks were actually cashed.

11:00 a.m., controlled substance — A man with a shaved head and wearing a black wife-beater shirt was lurking in a business on Old Wards Ferry Road. He was arrested for having drugs and resisting arrest. 

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

FRIDAY

9:37 a.m., Sonora area — A window was shot out at a Crystal Lake Drive residence.

10:48 a.m., Jamestown — A man said that someone was moving boulders under the bridge on Wigwam Road.

11:48 a.m., Sonora area — A fight was reported when a landlord tried to force a renter out of a Mono Way residence.

1:20 p.m., Groveland — Someone vandalized electrical equipment at a Ferretti Road campground.

2:23 p.m., Sonora area — A scam was reported by a Crystal Lake Drive resident who told law enforcement that someone called claiming to be from the federal government and required an $80 service fee to receive $5,000.

3:30 p.m., Sonora area — A man accidentally shot his index finger while target shooting on Jamestown Road. 

3:30 p.m., Jamestown — A woman said mail was stolen from her mailbox on Golf Links Road.

4:21 p.m., Groveland — A bus driver reported children on the side of the road near Highway 120 and Ferretti Road pointing guns toward the road. The children were target shooting with BB guns.

6:46 p.m., Sonora area — Employees at a Mono Way business said two people were possibly shoplifting. After investigating, the responding deputy found nothing was taken from the store.

6:52 p.m., Groveland — A woman reported a sluice box stolen from Powderhouse Street.

11:02 p.m., Sonora area — A man said his car windows were egged while driving on Longeway Road near Spanish Grant Drive.

SATURDAY

12:59 a.m., Sonora area — A truck was egged near Longeway Road and Mechanical Drive.

4:17 a.m., Sonora area — Someone rifled through an unlocked vehicle on Covey Circle and took a garage door opener.

6:15 a.m., Sonora area — A vehicle was broken into on Chukar Circle.

2:35 p.m., Sonora area — A man tried to cash an altered $80 check on Mono Way.

3 p.m., Jamestown — A gold panner reported being harassed by a homeless man camping in the area of Moccasin Creek Road and Highway 49.

5:22 p.m., Sonora area — An Eaton Court resident said items were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

5:53 p.m., Sonora area — Squatters were reported at an empty house at Kewin Mill and Big Hill roads.

SUNDAY

2:32 a.m., Mi-Wuk Village — A fight was reported on Muheli Road.

4: 09 p.m., Sonora area — Two people were warned not to trespass when they told officers that they were going “exploring” at a property on Lime Kiln and Campo Seco Roads.

4:14 p.m., La Grange — A juvenile walked into a Don Pedro fire station after being shot in the eye with a BB gun.

5:24 p.m., East Sonora — A patient under the care of a Mono Way medical clinic was under the influence of an unknown substance and tried to leave.  

9:25 p.m., East Sonora — A driver was stopped for swerving between lanes when his two dogs tried to climb into the front seats. He was advised to secure the dogs before driving. 

MONDAY

7:24 a.m., Columbia — A man was walking through a State Street apartment complex knocking on doors, telling residents that he was terminally ill and needed a place to “pass away.”

FRIDAY

12:25 p.m., Sonora — Joshua Michael Hegel, 35, of the 200 block of North Stewart Street, was booked on suspicion of taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent and theft from an elder after an arrest at his residence.

3:36 p.m., Sonora — Jose Jesus Zuniga, 60, of the 9900 block of Highway 108, was booked on suspicion of child abuse and threatening with intent to terrorize after an arrest on the 9900 block of Mono Way.

SATURDAY

12:20 a.m., Sonora — Joshua Thomas Bashaw, 35, of the 15800 block of Curtis Circle, was booked on suspicion of possession of a narcotic after an arrest at his residence.

5:18 p.m., Sonora — Dustin Robert Stevens, 25, a transient, was booked on suspicion of carrying a concealed knife, drug possession and parole violation after an arrest in an Elk Drive parking lot. 

9:25 p.m., Jamestown — Jose Jesus Pelayo, 29, and Pedor Pelayo, 27, both with no known address, were both booked on suspicion of possession of a stolen firearm after an arrest at Bel Mooney Road and Jeni Court.

SUNDAY

11: 32 a.m.,  Sonora area — Glen Edward William, 31, of the 13000 block of Silva Lane, was booked on suspicion of drug possession after an arrest on the first block of Old Wards Ferry Road.

10:16 p.m., Sonora area— Laura Katherine Hamblin, of the 19000 block of Rockridge Way, was booked on suspicion of attempting to rescue a prisoner, after an arrest at her home.  

11:27 p.m., Jamestown area — Veronica Penaflor Granados, 35, of the 800 block of Watson Avenue, Modesto, was booked on suspicion of drug possession and misdemeanor driving with a suspended license, after an arrest on Highway 108 and Sierra Rock Road.

12:21 a.m., Twain Harte — James  Michael Shelvin, 61, of the 20000 block of Comstock Ranch Road, Sonora, was booked after an arrest on Little Fuller Road.

2:10 a.m., Sonora — Dustin Niemi Lapicz, 26, of the 16300 block of Crestridge Avenue, was booked after an arrest on South Sunshine Drive.

5:25 p.m., Jamestown — Paul Anthony Dake II, 24, of the 20100 block of Old Buchanan Mine Road, Tuolumne, was booked after an arrest on Seco Street.

SATURDAY

7:40 p.m., Jamestown — Shirley Darlene McCarthur, 72, of the 10200 block of Old Pedro Drive, Jamestown, was booked after an arrest on Highway 120 near Keystone.

8:53 p.m., Jamestown — Joseph Anthony Cardiff Ulrey, 26, of the 200 block of Gerrymander Avenue, Sonora, was booked after an arrest at Fifth Avenue and Willow Street.

SUNDAY

2:26 a.m., Sonora — Corie Christine Barr, 29, of the 21000 block of Feather River Drive, was booked on after an arrest on the first block of Theall Street. 

11:20 p.m., Columbia — Robert Devin Kermeen, 22, of the 23000 block of Orion Mine Road, was booked after an arrest on an unknown block of Yankee Hill Road.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

FRIDAY

9 a.m., San Andreas — A man with red-dyed hair, no socks and no shoes was looking into vehicles in the Mark Twain Medical Center parking lot on Mountain Ranch Road.

9:42 a.m., Mokelumne Hill — A caller said someone claiming to be with the National Rifle Association was calling residents. The caller suspected a scam.

9:55 a.m., Valley Springs — A vehicle break-in was reported on Gold Dust Drive.

2:48 p.m., Murphys — A man was seen abusing a puppy on Coyote Drive, though responders were unable to locate him upon arrival.

2:51 p.m., San Andreas — An assault by a student was reported at a school on Lewis Avenue.

9:10 p.m., Copperopolis — Fireworks were reported in the area around Salmon Road.

SATURDAY

6:37 a.m., Arnold — A fight was reported between neighbors over possible vandalism on El Dorado Drive.

7:33 a.m., Arnold — A house was ransacked and the doors kicked in on Meadowview Way.

8:57 a.m., Douglas Flat — Damage to a vehicle was reported as a result of an attempted theft of vehicle parts on Sugar Pine Way.

4:50 p.m., Wilseyville — Four men were drinking and urinating behind a building on Blue Mountain Road at Rocky Bar Road.

5:52 p.m., Copperopolis — An O’Byrnes Ferry Road property owner reported teenagers trespassing with dirt bikes.

11:09 p.m., Arnold — A possible explosion was reported behind a lodge at White Pines Bar on Highway 4.

SUNDAY

6:05 p.m., San Andreas — A suspicious vehicle was playing loud music on East Charles Street. 

7:11 p.m., San Andreas — People argued at a business on West Charles Street. 

MONDAY

1:43 a.m.,  West Point — Someone stole a car and ran it into a ditch on Highdon Road.

6:23 p.m.,  Copperopolis — Barbara Jean Leonard, 58, of an unknown Sonora address, was booked on suspicion of drug possession after an arrest on the 1000 block of Quiver Street.

3:13 a.m.,  Valley Springs —Adam Nicholas Murry, 33, of the 200 block of Lambert Court, Lodi, was booked after an arrest at La Contenta and Vista Del Lago Drives.
