Norman Lawrence ‘Norm’ Foust

Oct. 22, 1941 — Jan. 11, 2014

Jamestown resident Norman Lawrence “Norm” Foust died Jan. 11 at his home. He was 72. 

Mr. Foust was born in Antioch, the son of Norma Belle Foust and William “Bill” Foust.

He worked for the Bridgehead Chevron station in Antioch before joining the U.S. Army in March 1960. He served at Fort Richardson, Alaska, for about three years.

After returning home, he purchased and continued to run the Bridgehead Chevron station. Not long after, he purchased and ran the Bridgehead Market.

He owned and operated Bob’s Sanitary Service a few years later.

He later went to work for Jim Grossman as a carpenter in Sonora in 1980.

Mr. Foust retired in 1995.

He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, camping and gold mining.

Mr. Foust was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Marie Foust.

He is survived by his children, Matthew L. Foust and his fiancee, Christin Goldson, of Columbia; stepchildren, Lou Alstat, of Oregon, Lacresha Pate, of Santa Cruz, Charlie Brimage, of El Dorado, and John Brimage, of Santa Cruz; siblings, Eddie Foust, of Idaho, and Penny Prieto, of Marysville; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 16 at the Sonora Elks Lodge, 100 Elk Drive.

Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
