Obamacare’s logic illogical

To the Editor:

Let’s attempt to understand the mind of liberals in the federal government.

Special Warning: Doing this may cost more brain cells than a helmet-to-helmet NFL hit and may also lead to early dementia.

Obamacare logic…

1) Who will pay for higher costs of providing care for the old, the sick, and those with preexisting conditions?

Answer: The young and healthy.

2) But the young and healthy are generally poor, how will they pay for their premiums?

Answer: They will be subsidized by the government.

3) But where does the money to subsidize the young come from?

Answer: We will take money ($500 billion) from Medicare (i.e. the old and the sick) to pay for the Obamacare subsidies.

4) You’re going to take money from the old and the sick (under Medicare) to pay for the subsidies for the young and healthy, so that they in turn will pay for the old and the sick (under Obamacare)?

Answer: Exactly. Oh, and we’re going to increase taxes and the health care premiums on the middle class too!

Also, Obamacare should be called MediCal+ based on its limited access to doctors and hospitals (Stanford Hospital is currently not included). The “+” part? That’s the monthly premium, unlike MediCal with no premium.

Please keep in mind that not one Republican voted for Obamacare (Affordable Care Act).
