TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

THURSDAY

7:48 a.m., weapons violations — Two men were in an argument and one possibly had a gun on the 100 block of Old Wards Ferry Road. 

8:04 a.m., animal complaint — A donkey got out of its pen on Ponderosa Drive. The caller later said it was back in its pasture. 

10:41 a.m., threats — Threats were made toward Sonora High School.

11:49 a.m., animal complaint — People found newborn kittens in a ditch and held them in front of a coin-operated laundry on West Stockton Road until an officer took them to Animal Control.

1:21 p.m., vandalism — A vehicle’s driver-side window was damaged at South Shepherd and Gold streets. 

4:36 p.m., threats — A customer reportedly threatened to kill someone for making his or her son leave a business on the 600 block of South Washington Street. 

FRIDAY

11:34 a.m., vandalism — A vehicle was reportedly keyed while parked in a Greenley Road parking lot.

1:19 p.m., trespassing — A woman laid down in a stairwell and refused to leave a South Green Street business.

3:08 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A man was reported to be soliciting home repair work on North Stewart Street.

4:05 p.m., theft — A laptop was taken on Hospital Road.

4:30 p.m., hazardous situation — A power line was down across the road on East Lyons Road.

8:44 p.m., disturbance — A man cursed at employees in a South Washington Street restaurant.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

THURSDAY

12:17 p.m., Sonora area — Someone called about a man who “looked like an old dope fiend” with a “ratty ponytail” who pounded on the door and asked the resident if he wanted to buy some steaks on the 21900 block of Phoenix Lake Road.

12:30 p.m., Jamestown — A person reported numerous phone calls from someone claiming to be with the Walmart claims department. The person offered a new Mercedes and said people would be making a delivery to the reporting party’s house. The caller said a newer maroon four-door sedan with three men circled his driveway and left on the 8400 block of Old Melones Dam Road.

1:29 p.m., Sonora area — Someone reported a “transient-looking” man of about 30 hanging around a bus stop in the morning near kids at North and South Sunshine roads.

1:49 p.m., Tuolumne — A woman said her son locked her out of a house on the 18600 block of Maple Road. They were counseled to  get  along and follow the law.

11:08 p.m., East Sonora — A woman was reportedly waiting for a person to get off work so she could beat her up on the 14800 block of Mono Way. 

FRIDAY

4:30 a.m., Twain Harte area — Theft was reported on the 22200 block of South Fork Road. 

9:29 a.m., Jamestown — A man reported possible mail fraud, telling deputies his wife received a medication bill out of Florida despite neither of them making such a purchase.

9:34 a.m., Groveland — A man told police that a newly purchased home on Jackson Mill Drive was recently broken into, with boxes possibly stolen.

9:52 a.m., Jamestown — A sewer overflow on Sixth Avenue was reportedly caused by a bunch of sticks stuck into a manhole.

11:34 a.m., Sonora area — A report was made on Highway 49 of a possible burglary, with someone appearing to take a rifle from a garage.

11:56 a.m., Groveland — A woman reported her recently deceased husband’s belongings missing from a Ferretti Road area storage unit.

12:57 p.m., Sonora area — Someone on Yost Ranch Road reported receiving a possibly fraudulent check for $5,000 in the mail. 

2:56 p.m., Sonora area — A wood splitter valued at $500 or $600 was reported stolen on Crystal Falls Drive.

3:19 p.m., Jamestown — A second-hand report was made of a man dredging in a creek at Rawhide Road and Highway 108.

3:35 p.m., Twain Harte — A report was made of an ongoing problem on Joaquin Gully of youths loitering around businesses.

5:21 p.m., Sonora area — A person witnessed a boy and a girl fighting while two adults stood by watching.

THURSDAY

6:18 p.m., Sonora — Tanya Dianna Taylor, 39, of the 10600 block of Reservoir Road, Jamestown, was booked on suspicion of petty theft with a prior conviction and violation of probation after an arrest on the 100 block of South Washington Street. 

7:45 p.m., Sonora — Michelle Marie Colopy, 22, a transient, was booked on suspicion of drug possession, misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession and two warrants for drug charges after an arrest on the 14600 block of Tuolumne Road. 

8:35 p.m., Sonora — Jose Alfredo Pineda, 35, of the 14600 block of Tuolumne Road, was booked after an arrest on the 1400 block of Tuolumne Road.

FRIDAY

2:23 p.m., Jamestown — Willie Bernal, 30, of the 10300 block of Preston Lane, Jamestown, was booked on suspicion of threatening crime with the intent to terrorize.

5:02 p.m., Jamestown — James Daniel French, 47, unspecified address, Jamestown, was booked on suspicion of first-degree burglary after an arrest on Silver Plum Drive.

7:25 p.m., Jamestown — Martin Laso Torres, 50, of the 10300 block of Ninth Street, was booked after an arrest at Main and Humbug streets.

11:03 p.m., Copperopolis — Karen Denise Golden, 47, of Stockton, was booked after an arrest at O’Byrnes Ferry Road, north of Peoria Flat Road.

FRIDAY

8:06 p.m., Sonora area — Barry Wayne Sturgis, 49, of the 1500 block of Camino Del Parque North, Sonora, was booked after an arrest on Mono Way at Elsey Court.

11:15 p.m., Jamestown — Charles Cody Taylor, 27, listed as a Sonora transient, was booked after an arrest on Highway 108.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

8:03 a.m., Copperopolis — Trespassing was reported on Deerfield Circle.

10:41 a.m., San Andreas — Someone went into the Sheriff’s Office lobby to report theft.

12:53 p.m., San Andreas — A person in a big, puffy jacket was yelling at vehicles at highways 49 and 12.

1:17 p.m., Murphys — Someone reportedly got video footage of people vandalizing a gate and trespassing on Tom Bell Road.

3:51 p.m., San Andreas — Someone said people were smoking drugs by the skating area at Turner Park on Treat Avenue and someone had a big bag of marijuana.

8:04 p.m., San Andreas — A person was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public on Calaveritas Road.

1:19 a.m., San Andreas — A person was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public on Main Street. 

10:50 a.m., Jenny Lind — A vehicle was reportedly stripped on a Milton Road property.

11:28 a.m., San Andreas — A burglary was reported in a vehicle on Highway 49.

11:43 a.m., Valley Springs — A man in the middle of the road on Main Street said he was assaulted.

1:49 p.m., West Point — A burglary was reported in a residence on Higdon Road.

3:57 p.m., Arnold — A bicycle was stolen on Blagen Road.

5:15 p.m., Mokelumne Hill — A dispute took place over a property line and foliage on Peek Circle.

7:57 p.m., Murphys — A woman was reported talking to herself in an alley off of Highway 4.

7:58 p.m., Valley Springs — Two dogs were found on Ross Drive.

9 p.m., San Andreas — A report of public intoxication was made at a West Saint Charles Street business.

9:09 p.m., Murphys — Someone was reported cussing and yelling at people in a Highway 4 parking lot.

11:30 p.m., San Andreas — An out of control party was reported on West Saint Charles Street.
