The Angels Camp/Murphys/Arnold Jr. Bullfrog gridders received higher learning experienceson Tuesday and Wednesday with the Bret Harte Bullfrogs varsity coaching staff, led by first-year head coach Jon Byrnes, directing practices.

The Bret Harte coaching staff, which was assisted by a handful of Bullfrog players, hosted the youths at the high school campus.

The coaches and players enthusiastically put athletes through drills and each coach picked one player per day at the end of practice that stood out and rewarded them with athletic shorts.

Each gridder also received a Bret Harte football T-shirt for participating.

The Bullfrog coaching staff took advantage of the high school fall sports dead period to coach the aspiring stars.

The Jr. Frogs begin their season on Aug. 31 at Riverbank. Bret Harte will open play at Ripon on Friday, Aug. 30
