TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sonora Police Department reported the following: 

TUESDAY

3:41 p.m., suspicious circumstances — Someone reported seeing a woman tampering with a package drop box in front of a business on the 100 block of North Washington Street. An officer concluded no crime was committed and a postal worker had picked up packages and left a door unsecured. 

4:37 p.m., warrant arrests — Officers arrested a man on two felony warrants on South Barretta Street. 

10:56 p.m., battery — A woman was arrested after punching a man in the face on South Barretta Street. 

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following: 

TUESDAY

7:10 a.m., East Sonora — Someone said a neighbor has been shooting at him and his dog with a pellet gun on the 14600 block of Mono Way. 

8:15 a.m., Jamestown — A woman reported her back tires being flattened the night before on the 18100 block of Sixth Avenue.

8:43 a.m., Twain Harte — A man reported his wife’s Social Security number had been compromised the day before by giving it to a caller claiming to work for AT&T, calling their home on the 22700 block of Virginia Avenue. 

10:15 a.m., Sonora area — An employee reported a resident at a care home on the 12800 block of Sylva Lane lost a ring valued at $6,500. It is gold with two diamonds and two sapphires arranged in a line. 

10:48 a.m., Sonora area — A woman on the 21900 block of Glenwood Road reported threats being made to her son over a property dispute. Officers believed the issue was resolved. 

1:31 p.m., Sonora area — Fraud was reported on the 20100 block of Rough and Ready Trail.

1:34 p.m., Willow Springs — Someone said two men were parked in the cul de sac for over an hour in a green Ford Bronco with large tires on the 20800 block of Oman Drive.

3:07 p.m., Pinecrest — Someone requested extra patrol on the 500 block of Dodge Ridge Road because there were problems with rowdy campers the last two nights. 

3:23 p.m., Sonora area — A woman on the 10900 block of Belmont Drive said she has received threats over a family issue. She said if the man comes to her residence “somebody is going to get hurt and it won’t be her.”

3:34 p.m., Sonora area — A woman said someone came to her house for a survey after a letter was sent telling her someone would be coming to her home on the 16200 block of Hidden Valley Road. She said she was concerned over the questions because one asked “How many locks do you have on your house?”

3:46 p.m., Jamestown — A woman was yelling on the 10100 block of Hitchcock Court, but others there told officers everything was fine.

3:50 p.m., Sonora area — An unoccupied house was found with a window broken and signs of someone living in it on the 20700 block of North Sunshine Road.

4:19 p.m., Columbia — Someone reported a well pump stolen sometime in the last month on the 21800 block of Sawmill Flat Road.

4:42 p.m., Sonora area — A woman felt scared when a man she said was drunk approached her at a house she was working at on the 18300 block of Wards Ferry Road. He refused to leave and got very upset. The owner of the property said he is not welcome and asked about the restraining order process.

5:01 p.m., Groveland — A woman on the 19300 block of Elder Lane said someone made charges on her credit card.

5:09 p.m., Twain Harte — A man serving an eviction notice said a tenant on the 22600 block of Twain Harte Drive greeted him with a rifle at his side. The man serving the eviction did not request assistance, but wanted the incidence recorded in case of future problems.

5:23 p.m., Sonora area— Someone said a utility box at a residence was damaged and they believed the responsible party to be a squatter on the property at on the 11500 block of Racetrack Road.

5:33 p.m., Twain Harte — A burglary occurred and several items were taken from a house on the 21900 block of Cedar Springs Road.

5:44 p.m., Tuolumne — Someone tried to steal beer on the 19300 block of Tuolumne Road North.

7:24 p.m., Willow Springs — Someone said a homeless man was sleeping in the park on Willow Springs Drive and does so all the time, leaving his belongings nearby. Officers gave him a ride to downtown Sonora to be closer to resources.

11:30 p.m., Sonora area — Two men both called 911 because each claim he was injured by the other man on the 16100 block of Big Hill Road.

11:35 p.m., Twain Harte — A man was arrested for public intoxication after a disturbance on the 19100 block of Highlander Drive.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

TUESDAY

8:07 a.m., Sheep Ranch — A woman said her son may have consumed too much of an illicit drug as he is “running around, screaming, seeing people in the bushes,” on Armstrong Road.

8:49 p.m., Copperopolis — A theft from an unlocked vehicle was reported on Calypso Beach Drive.

9:28 a.m., San Andreas — Someone reported a person with no shirt asking passers-by for clothes near the courthouse on Mountain Ranch Road.

11:26 a.m., Valley Springs — A woman was arrested for allegedly being under the influence of drugs on at Cedar Street and Highway 12.

12:13 p.m., San Andreas — Someone reported two people in an argument, with “some hands on” on West St. Charles Street.

4:30 p.m., Mokelumne Hill — Someone said a man was hitting the driver of a vehicle while driving at highways 49 and 26. 

5:14 p.m., Angels Camp — Someone reported criminal contempt on Copello Drive.

5:32 p.m., San Andreas — A man wearing black was stepping out in front of the traffic at West Saint Charles Street and Court Street, someone said.

8:43 p.m., San Andreas — Someone saw a woman looking through papers in a dumpster on Main Street.

8:44 p.m., Hathaway Pines — Someone saw people at a foreclosed residence on Cedar Drive. They appeared to be loading metal. 

10:36 p.m., Avery — A woman was heard screaming on Moran Road.

11:18 p.m., Jenny Lind — Someone was arrested on an out-of-county warrant on Jenny Lind Road.

11:34 p.m., Copperopolis — Someone reported trespassers at a business on O’Byrnes Ferry Road because he or she heard “stuff being banged around.”

Felony bookings 

TUESDAY

7:40 p.m.., Valley Springs — Michael Anthony Rawlins, 48, of the 2600 block of Holmquist Lane, was booked on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse after an arrest on the 4000 block of Dunn Road.

TUESDAY

3:25 p.m., Copperopolis — Carlos Sebastian Toste, 49, of the 2300 block of 19th Avenue, Oakland, was booked, also driving on a suspended license, after an arrest on Highway 4, west of O’Byrnes Ferry Road.
