Christine Adrian

March 14, 1947 — July 1, 2013

Crystal Falls resident Christine Adrian died July 1 at Baker Campground near Dardanelle. She was 66.

Mrs. Adrian was born in Reno, Nev. She settled in Tuolumne County 14 years ago.

She worked as a bartender for 30 years, the past 13 at Zane’s Iron Horse Lounge in downtown Sonora.

She was a member of the Wildlife Federation and enjoyed camping, crystal hunting and fishing.

Mrs. Adrian is survived by her daughter, Nicolette Nomof, of Sonora; sister, Candace Boylan, of Sonora; grandchildren, Phoenix and August Matheny, of Sonora; and three nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Mountain Springs Golf Course, 17566 Lime Kiln Road, Sonora.

Kenneth Poe Fegan

Aug. 4, 1958 — July 2, 2013

Jamestown resident Kenneth Poe Fegan died July 2 at his home. He was 54.

Mr. Fegan was born in Castro Valley, the youngest child to Edward and Patricia Fegan.

He grew up in Sacramento and settled in Tuolumne County eight years ago.

Mr. Fegan worked as a truck driver and crane operator for many years and worked as head cashier at a home improvement store for the past two years.

He enjoyed camping and traveling and fixing things of an electrical, mechanical or technical nature.

He was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Mr. Fegan was preceded in death by his father, Edward Fegan, in December 2012. 

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Linda Fegan, of Jamestown; his mother, Patricia Butts, of Sacramento; his children and their spouses, Rebekah Fegan, of Sonora, Benjamin Langlais, of Sacramento, Bethany and Jose Diaz, of Santa Cruz, and Marc and Angela Fegan, of Sacramento; sister, Deborah Killion and her husband, Michael, of Sacramento; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 19985 Greenley Road, Sonora.

Eunice (Kirkpatrick) Gates

Jan. 17, 1934 — June 28, 2013

Sonora resident Eunice (Kirkpatrick) Gates died June 28 at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto. She was 79.

Mrs. Gates was born in Gouverneur, N.Y.

She married Neal Gates in 1935 and was a homemaker most her life.

She and her husband moved to Tuolumne County 35 years ago when he took an engineering job with Pickering Lumber Co.

Mrs. Gates was preceded in death by her husband, Neal Gates, in 1989; and her daughter, Kathryn Gates, in 2006.

She is survived by her children, Jeff Gates and Stephen Gates, both of Sonora; her siblings, David Kirkpatrick and June Grandy, both of New York; and granddaughter, Hannah Martel, of Tuolumne.

Terry Miller

Jan. 22, 1948 — June 29, 2013

Escalon resident Terry Miller, a frequent visitor to the Mother Lode, died June 29 at his home. He was 65.

Mr. Miller was born in Richmond to Oleva and Cecil Ray Miller.

He worked as a machinist for 13 years, but retired to two years ago. 

He lived in Escalon for the past 10 years. He enjoyed fishing.

Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his father in 2005; and Doyle Ray Miller, in 2009.  

He is survived by his mother, Oleva Miller, of Coulterville; and brother, Rodney Miller, also of Coulterville.

Jo Ann (Wunstell) Wiley

Jan. 18, 1961 — June 28, 2013

Sonora resident Jo Ann (Wunstell) Wiley died June 28 at Sonora Regional Medical Center. She was 52.

Mrs. Wiley was born in Houma, La. She settled in Tuolumne County 29 years ago and worked as a deli clerk at Save Mart for the past five years.

She was a member of the Divine Ministry Community Church and enjoyed traveling.

Mrs. Wiley was preceded in death by her stepbrothers, Bill and Ray Wunstell.

She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Kurt Wiley, of Sonora; her children, Brittany and Bryce Wiley, of Sonora; brothers and their spouses, Don and Jody Wunstell, of Louisiana, and Ted and Cindy Wunstell, of Louisiana; stepbrother, Edward Wunstell, of Louisiana; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Divine Ministry Community Church, 19401 Susan Way, Sonora.
