Dutton football camp on Friday, Saturday

Former NFL player and college All-American Ryan Dutton will hold his “Stars of Tomorrow Football Camp” on Friday and Saturday from 8-11 a.m. at Sonora High School’s Dunlavy Field.

The cost for the two-day camp is $150, but kids who can attend just one day, the price is $75.

Dutton, now a teacher at Tioga High in Groveland, will be assisted by some current and former youth and high school coaches.

The camp is designed for players who are 7-to-14 years old. 

Dutton will focus on fundamentals and will hold a mock NFL combine where he puts athletes through drills college players are put through in preparation for the draft. No shoulder pads will be used.

Dutton was an All-Conference quarterback as well as All-American punter for Minnesota State in Mankato. He made the Cleveland Browns’ practice squad as a punter in 2004.

In 2005, he signed with the Seattle Seahawks, who eventually placed Dutton on their NFL Europe team, the Amsterdam Admirals. Dutton served as backup quarterback in addition to punting for Amsterdam while it won the World Bowl XXIII championship.
