TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

8:23 a.m., Sonora area — A fishing rod worth $800 was reported stolen a week ago from and unlocked truck on the 20700 block of Jackass Hill Road. 

9:29 a.m., Jamestown — A woman threatened bodily harm to neighbor children on the 10300 block of Preston Lane. 

11:45 a.m., Jamestown — Police were unable to locate a man and woman who were seen beating each other on Highway 120 and O’Byrnes Ferry Road.

1:03 p.m., Jamestown — A caregiver was seen hitting and “dragging around” an elderly woman at a business on the 200 block of Main Street, Angels Camp. The victim’s home address was given as 18700 block of Mill Villa Road, with a request for law enforcement to check on her in an hour. Officers concluded the caretaker grabbed the woman to stop her from being hit by a car. 

1:37 p.m., Sonora area — Someone was reported living in a home that the owner is trying to sell on the 11500 block of Racetrack Road. 

1:47 p.m., Sonora area — A woman who “was not dressed appropriately to sell products” tried to sell a cleaning product and get into someone’s house on the 18100 block of Wards Ferry Road. She was denied entrance, and later two men came looking for the woman and commented on how nice of a home it was. 

2 p.m., Jamestown area — A man took a 12-pack of beer from a distribution truck, but gave the beer back to the store it was being delivered to on the 14400 block of Tulloch Dam Road. He was counseled and released.

2:06 p.m., Sonora area — Someone broke a lock and damaged a shed door over the weekend on the 18500 block of Striker Court. 

3:31 p.m., Jamestown — A fight occurred with three to four teenage boys against one. Witnesses said he was the instigator and was turned over to his mother. 

3:33 p.m., Mi-Wuk Village — A man grabbed a woman’s purse from her backyard as she was getting her dog untangled on the 20600 block of Chief Fuller Way.

4:49 p.m., East Sonora — Someone started a fire with egg crates behind a business on the 19600 block of Hess Avenue.  

5:42 p.m., Columbia – Someone was trying to kick in a door at a home at Haughton Circle and Damin Road. 

5:46 p.m., Sonora — Someone charged more than $2,500 on a woman’s credit card on 15900 block of Tomahawk Court. 

6:17 p.m., Tuolumne — Several men were seen climbing onto a roof and entering a window at Carter Street and Willow Avenue.

10:20 p.m., Jamestown — A cell phone was stolen at a business on the 16900 block of Chicken Ranch Road but was recovered after viewing surveillance tapes. 

10:36 p.m., Twain Harte — Someone was walking around a house with a flashlight 24000 block of South Fork Road. 

10:56 p.m., Columbia — A man was “jumped” and beaten at Upper Gunsight Road “for not being a Clamper.”

The Sonora Police Department reported the following: 

WEDNESDAY

2:49 a.m., trespassing — A woman was trespassing on South Washington Street. Police were able to resolve the issue.

2:44 p.m., animal complaint — A woman was charged by unleashed dogs and put her foot up to stop them. She was yelled at for this by the dogs’ owner. A citation was issued to the owner for having dogs at large. 

3:39 p.m., traffic accident — A woman reported her car was hit by a bus on Greenley Road. When asked a question about it, she said “Never mind,” and hung up.

6:03 p.m., suspicious person — Someone was acting suspiciously in a car in a parking lot on the 600 block of South Washington.

WEDNESDAY

1:40 p.m., Sonora — Michael Brett Bahten, 42, of the 100 block of Leonards Addition Road, was booked on suspicion of drug possession after an arrest at his home. He had a warrant for failing to appear on a in court on a misdemeanor charge. 

1:40 p.m., Sonora — Scott Wallace Brookfield, 40, of the 900 block of Oregon Street, was booked on suspicion of drug possession after an arrest on the 100 block of Leonards Addition Road. 

10:49 p.m, Jamestown — John Blewford High, 44, of the 5900 block of Green Springs Road, was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and threatening death or great bodily injury after an arrest on the 10200 block of Preston Lane.

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs:

2:27 p.m., Groveland — Rogelio Gabriel Cruz, 64, of the 20900 block of Ferretti Road, was booked after an arrest at Ferretti Road and Elderberry Way.

10:36 p.m., Sonora — Melanie Marie White, 36, of an unspecified address on Columbia Way, was booked for bicycling under the influence after an arrest at Church and South Washington streets. 

CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Department reported the following: 

WEDNESDAY

11:22 a.m., Valley Springs — A man was being threatening on Nove Way. 

12:18 p.m., San Andreas — Someone was kicking a garbage can behind a business on East St. Charles Street.

1:33 p.m., Valley Springs — Neighbors got into a fight on Blake Lane. Neither wanted to press charges. 

3:18 p.m., San Andreas — A woman visited the Sheriff’s Office to inform that her ex-boyfriend has been following her all day.

4:33 p.m., Arnold — A burglary occurred on Summit View Road. 

7:53 p.m., Murphys — A woman said there is an inebriated man in her front yard on Nickerson Lane.

9:02 p.m., Copperopolis — Theft occurred at a residence on Hunt Road.

THURSDAY

1:41 a.m., Murphys — A group of people rode by on horses yelling and sounded intoxicated on Rocky Hill Road.

WEDNESDAY

12:10 a.m., Angels Camp — Joseph Edward White, 28, of the 100 block of Bret Harte Road, was booked on suspicion of drug possession and misdemeanor being under the influence of drugs and possession of paraphernalia after an arrest on the 1200 block of South Main Street. 

3:15 a.m., Angels Camp — Melissa Jean Thorne, 36, of the 300 block of E Street, Modesto, was booked on suspicion of drug possession and misdemeanor drug and paraphernalia possession and driving with a suspended license after an arrest on Highway 49, south of Highway 4. 

7:30 p.m., Valley Springs — Tommy Earl Jones, of the 900 block of St. Andrews Street, was booked on suspicion of violation of parole after an arrest at Highways 12 and 26. 

10:12 p.m., San Andreas — Lester Gilbert Junior, 48, of the 4200 block of Hartvickson Road, Valley Springs, was booked on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse.

12:30 a.m., Mokelumne Hill — Justin Enzo Arhuleta, 24, of the 500 block of Sandy Avenue, Farmersville, was booked after an arrest on Highway 49 north of Mokelumne Hill.
