The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


12:10 p.m., theft — A purse was stolen from a parked vehicle at an unknown location on May 22.

12:43 p.m., traffic accident — A three-vehicle accident was reported on the 1100 block of Mono Way.

1:39 p.m., burglary — An apartment on the 400 block of Greenley Road was burglarized over the weekend.

3:12 p.m., traffic violations — Six drivers were cited for vehicle code violations at Morning Star Drive and Cemetery Lane. 

4:33 p.m., traffic violations — A 47-year-old was cited on suspicion of driving with a suspended license and using a handheld wireless device while driving.

6:18 p.m., traffic violation — Someone was cited on suspicion of driving slowly and impeding traffic at South Washington Street and East Bradford Avenue.

9:47 p.m., traffic violations — A bicyclist was cited on suspicion of failing to obey traffic control devices, having oversized handlebars and reflectorized equipment violation.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


8:17 a.m., East Sonora — A business on the 14500 block of Mono Way was burglarized.

9:50 a.m., Sonora area — A man said someone opened a credit card account in his name and he received a collections notice.

11:22 a.m., Groveland — A chainsaw was stolen on the 9000 block of Smith Station Road.

11:53 a.m., Groveland — A vehicle accident was reported at Harper and Merrell roads and an ambulance was called for a possible head injury.

2:02 p.m., Twain Harte — Someone broke into a residence on the 23200 block of Hawk Lane North, cooked a meal and slept in a bed. The person did the dishes and made the bed before leaving.

3:06 p.m., Jamestown — A residence on the 12200 block of Algerine Road was burglarized.

 5:32 p.m., Tuolumne — A mountain lion killed someone’s goats on the 20300 block of Patrick Lane.

8:31 p.m., Sonora area — A woman found a photo of a man with a screwdriver poked through it lying on the ground at the Stevenot Bridge. She was worried about the person in the picture.

8:57 p.m., Columbia — A 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of battery at his home on the 21700 block of Parrotts Ferry Road.

12:48 p.m., Jamestown — David Allen Dennis, 35, of the 10300 block of Preston Lane, was booked on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant after an arrest at his home.


The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


10:31 a.m., Valley Springs — A telephone scam was reported on Marsden Lane.

2:50 p.m., San Andreas — An incarcerated person attempted to leave the Calaveras County Superior Court without authorization.

3:52 p.m., Wallace — A quad and other items were stolen from a storage unit on the Camanche Parkway South.

3:54 p.m., San Andreas — Someone was cited on suspicion of shoplifting at a business on the 100 block of East Saint Charles Street.

9:07 p.m., Mokelumne Hill — Cash was stolen on Peek Circle.


2:08 a.m., Valley Springs — Graffiti was reported at a business on the 200 block of Highway 12.


Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs:


3:30 a.m., Valley Springs — Travis Logan Emerson, 21, of the 200 block of Montgomery Drive, Mokelumne Hill, was booked after an arrest on Quail Oaks Road near Butler Lane.
