TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

THURSDAY

12:30 a.m., Jamestown — One of two suspicious looking people trying to open a car door with a coat hanger at Main and Donovan streets turned out to be the owner who had locked her keys in the trunk.

9:03 a.m., Sonora — A man was hitting a woman in an eastbound car on Highway 108 west of Mono Way.

9:34 a.m., Standard — Someone stole a briefcase with important papers in it and a cell phone from a vehicle parked at Standard and Tuolumne roads.

11:57 a.m., Sonora area — A public men’s restroom on the 20000 block of Cedar Road North was vandalised.

1:58 p.m., Tuolumne — Two young men fraudulently tried to use a credit card numerous times at an ATM machine to get a cash advance on the 19400 block of North Tuolumne Road.

2:30 p.m., Twain Harte — A cabin on the 19100 block of Middle Camp Sugar Pine Road was burglarized, and the sliding glass door was broken.

7:18 p.m., East Sonora — A woman on the 19500 block of Rockridge Way found her elderly neighbor down and called the neighbor’s family. The neighbor’s son got mad as the woman was leaving the residence and threw the phone at her.

9:28 p.m., Sonora — A woman said all her jewelry and clothing was taken from her storage unit on the 12800 block of Covey Circle sometime last April.

Felony bookings 

THURSDAY

6 p.m., Sonora — James Lee Amador, 37, of the 1800 block of West Rumble Road in Modesto, was charged with carrying a concealed dirk or dagger after a pedestrian stop on the 600 block of South Washington Street.

9:31 p.m., Columbia — James Michael Alexander, 19, a Sonora transient, was charged with felony transportation of a controlled substance for sale and misdemeanor charges of possessing a controlled substance, altering the appearance of an imitation firearm and possessing fireworks after a traffic stop on the 22200 block of Parrotts Ferry Road.

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

THURSDAY

7:34 a.m., suspicious circumstances — An officer confirmed a woman’s suspicion that items were moved around during the night in her South Shepherd Street yard. Nothing was missing. Extra patrol was requested.

9:59 a.m. animal complaint — A cat stuck under a building on Sanguinetti Road was able to free itself prior to an officer’s arrival.

11:16 a.m., traffic accident — A two-car, non-injury accident occurred on Mono Way near Greenley Road.

1:31 p.m., burglary — A vehicle on South Stewart Street was broken into during the night.

6:49 p.m., traffic accident — A person on North Stewart Street heard a crash, went outside and found a white Explorer sideways in the road and into a fence. It appeared it may have also hit a parked car. No one was around the vehicle.

THURSDAY

4:55 a.m., Soulsbyville — Douglas James Vance, 48, of the 2500 block of Downey Avenue in San Jose, arrested at Soulsbyville Road and Highway 108.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Calaveras County Sheriff reported the following:

THURSDAY

12:12 p.m., Angels Camp — A commercial burglary occurred on Highway 49.

1:44 p.m., Avery — Someone reported that a man in a long coat and funny hat was walking around Avery Sheep Ranch Road and Blackbird Lane.

10:53 p.m., San Andreas — Someone slammed the phone and tore it off the wall at the Calaveras County Jail on Mountain Ranch Road. An arrest was made for vandalism.

11:55 p.m., Burson — People were going to a pond on Hillvale Drive and having a bonfire and partying.

The Angels Camp Police Department reported the following:

THURSDAY

8:38 a.m., disturbance — A disturbance occurred on Finnegan Lane.

9:02 p.m., disturbance — An arrest was made after officers responded to two subjects arguing with each other.

THURSDAY

12:37 p.m., Murphys — David Paul Cline, 29, of the 6200 block of Possum Trail, Murphys, was arrested at his home on a felony warrant for probation violation. He was also charged with felony owning ammunition when prohibited to do so, felony possessing a controlled substance and misdemeanor obstructing a public officer.

2 p.m., Murphys — Melinda Ellamay Willis, 34, of the 6200 block of Possum Trail, was arrested at her home on a felony charge of possessing a controlled substance for sale and misdemeanor charges of willful cruelty to a child, being under the influence of a controlled substance and possessing a controlled substance without a prescription.

2 p.m., Murphys — Ki Tama Purvis, 27, of the 1000 block of Stelte Court in Angels Camp, was arrested on the 6200 block of Possum Trail on a felony charge of possessing a controlled substance and misdemeanor charges of possessing unlawful paraphernalia, being under the influence of a controlled substance and possessing a controlled substance without a prescription.

10:24 p.m., Vallecito — Carl Sigmund Klein, 44, of the 2000 block of Flamingo Way in Arnold, after arrest on Vallecito Road near Depot Road.

11:09 a.m., San Andreas — Todd Andrew Cook, 40, of the 1900 block of Gold Strike Road, San Andreas, after arrest at Lewis Street and Foothill Court.
