Red Tail subdivision settlement on

PUBLIC MEETING: The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors meets at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the county Administration Building, 2 S. Green St., Sonora.

A settlement agreement has been reached in a lawsuit between residents of Quail Ridge Ranch and the county and developer of the planned Red Tail Ridge subdivision.

The lawsuit was filed in September 2011. The plaintiffs claimed traffic and environmental impacts weren’t adequately addressed in the project plan. The project involves dividing 542 acres between Lyons Bald Mountain Road and Cabezut Road, outside Sonora, into 46 lots ranging from 10 acres to 55 acres.

 

The county would be the final party to accept the settlement. The Board of Supervisors meets Tuesday and is set to discuss it.

A proposal to expand High Meadow Drive as a direct route between Cabezut and Lyons Bald Mountain will change. Instead, vehicles will have to take a longer, windier route on side roads to get from one road to the other.

The developer, SDS ventures, has also agreed to install an improved pedestrian route on the Quail Ridge side of the development, pay $23,500 in legal fees and pay $2,000 to the Quail Ridge Ranch Homeowners Association for every lot sold, according to documents from the Office of the County Counsel.

The board will also:

• continue discussions on the board’s five-year plan and 2013 goals.

• consider a $30 annual fee for the coming year to administer rent-control program for mobile homes.
