Robert Allen ‘Bob’ Hawks Sr.

April 11, 1946 — Jan. 1, 2013

Robert Allen  “Bob” Hawks Sr., of Arnold, died Jan. 1 at Skyline Place in Sonora. He was 66.

Mr. Hawks was born April 11, 1946, in San Mateo, the son of Ollie and Tom Hawks.

He was a Calaveras County general construction contractor for 34 years. When he wasn’t working on a customer’s home or his own, his interests included tinkering with vehicles, boats and equipment in his shop, and spending time with his four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother in 2009 and his father in 1965.

Mr. Hawks is survived by two children and their spouses, Rob and Jennifer Hawks, of Sonora, and Aaron and Gina Hawks, of Angels Camp; four grandchildren, Steven Hawks, of Los Angeles, Bobby Hawks, of Campbell, and Matt Hawks and Stephanie Hawks, both of San Luis Obispo; and two older brothers, Jim Hawks, of Mesa, Ariz., and Gerry Hawks, of Granite Bay.

A private family gathering is planned.

Alice F. Jones

April 17, 1948 — Jan. 2, 2013

Alice F. Jones, a three-year resident of Valley Springs, died Jan. 2 at Mark Twain Medical Center in San Andreas. She was 64.

Mr. Jones was born in Casa Grande, Ariz., to Ray and Fay Wendell.

She worked as a produce vendor for more than 30 years.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Bill Jones.

She is survived by her children, Rochelle Ballard, of Valley Springs, Trish Parvu, of Iowa, and Travis Condon, of Delaware; six grandchildren; and a sister, Jeanette Simmons, of Valley Springs.

No services are planned.

Harold Edward Knott

July 20, 1949 — Dec. 29, 2012

Harold Edward Knott, of Tuolumne, died Dec. 29 at Sonora Regional Medical Center. He was 63.

He was born in Culver City, the son of Marion Powers and Virgil Knott.

Mr. Knott was a 32-year resident of Tuolumne and worked as a maintenance technician at Sonora Regional Medical Center for more than 25 years.

His hobbies included fishing and boating.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his brother, Howard Knott.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mercedes Knott, of Tuolumne; two children, Kevin Knott, of San Diego, and Keith Knott, of Tuolumne; and three grandchildren, Ellianah and William Knott, of Tuolumne, and Bridgette Knott, of San Diego.

Private services are planned.

Ronald D. Perry

July 19, 1951 — Dec. 21, 2012

Ronald D. Perry, of Valley Springs, died Dec. 21 at the University of San Francisco Medical Center. He was 61.

Mr. Perry was born in Modesto, the son of Prebble and Roy Perry.

He worked as a landscaper for the past 10 years in Valley Springs. His many hobbies included woodworking and metal detecting. He was a collector of antiques and loved classic cars, his family said, having owned a few during his lifetime.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Mike Perry, and a nephew, Mike Thompson.

He is survived by his brothers and their spouses, Phil and Joanne Perry, of Ceres, and Roy “Junior” and Lori Perry, of Empire; his sister and her spouse, Linda and Lynn Thompson, of Valley springs; and eight nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
