TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

TUESDAY

12:16 p.m., Sonora area — A fence on the 13000 block of Fir Drive was cut sometime after 3 p.m. Friday and all of the copper wire on the property was stolen.

2:49 p.m., Strawberry — Someone has been trespassing on a man’s 33-acre property. The trespasser has done extensive tractor work and damaged the property.

4:19 p.m., Sonora area — A man woke up in the middle of the night on Sunday and saw someone in his house. He believes the person took a checkbook.

WEDNESDAY

2:36 a.m., Sonora area — A man saw someone breaking and entering into a property near Hillsdale Drive and Mono Way. The vehicle fled and he pursued it. When he caught up with the vehicle, it came to an abrupt stop and all of the passengers fled.

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs:

TUESDAY

9:49 a.m., Sonora area — Mark Christopher Dowling, 50, of the 21000 block of Apple Hill Drive, was booked after an arrest near Lyons Bald Mountain Road and Apple Hill Drive.

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

TUESDAY

5:33 p.m., burglary — A mountain bike was stolen from Cemetery Lane. 

7:14 p.m., public intoxication — A man was booked for public intoxication after he fell off his bike into the middle of the roadway on South Stewart and Linoberg streets and could not get back on. 

8:11 p.m., theft — A pair of women’s shoes were stolen from a store on Sanguinetti Road. 

8:37 p.m., reckless driving — A large pickup truck appeared to be driving 50 mph in a neighborhood at Banner Drive and Saratoga Road. 

CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

TUESDAY

8:09 a.m., Burson — Tools were stolen from a storage trailer on Highway 12. 

2:30 p.m., Valley Springs — A bus driver reported a strong natural gas smell at McAtee and Baldwin streets. 

2:51 p.m., San Andreas — Firewood was stolen from Serra Trail.

11:03 p.m., Arnold — A woman heard an explosion on Lilac Drive and heard a similar sound around the same time Monday. 

WEDNESDAY

6:53 a.m., Arnold — An explosion was reported on Lilac Drive.

TUESDAY

10:36 a.m., San Andreas — Marcel Anthony Lambert, 40, of the 10000 block of Oak Valley Road, Angels Camp, was booked on suspicion of first degree burglary.
