TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

FRIDAY

7:43 a.m., Sonora area  — A pickup load of oak rounds was stolen from a residence on the 18600 block of Old Wards Ferry Road between 3 and 5 a.m. A vehicle was heard during that time and car lights were seen at a neighbor’s residence.

7:49 a.m., East Sonora — A boat parked in front of a business on the 19500 block of Industrial Drive was vandalized and its batteries were stolen. A vehicle was also stolen.

8:17 a.m., Strawberry — Patio furniture outside a cabin at an unknown address on Forest Service Road 5NO1 was stolen sometime between Oct. 5 and Oct. 19.

10:11 a.m., Jamestown — A man pumping gas at a service station on the 18300 block of Highway 108 left his wallet there. He returned and asked the people who used the pump next if they had seen it. They denied seeing it, but video tape later revealed they had taken it. He canceled all his cards and had his driver license reissued.

10:21 a.m., Sonora — Numerous unauthorized Internet purchases totaling more than $500 were made between Oct. 26 and Nov. 2 on a debit card owned by a resident of the 20800 block of Lyons Bald Mountain Road.

11:40 a.m., Tuolumne — A student at Summerville Elementary School brought a knife collection and baggie of pills to school.

3:58 p.m., Twain Harte area — A man’s neighbor told him a truck pulled up to his woodpile and stole a load of wood. The neighbor had a picture of the suspect vehicle.

SATURDAY

12:14 a.m., Sonora area — A man drove away from the AM/PM on Mono Way with the nozzle attached to his truck and damaged the nozzle. He left without paying the $100 penalty.

12:36 a.m., Groveland — Windows to the Groveland Youth Center on Highway 120 were smashed.

2:49 p.m., Sonora — About $1,700 in cash was stolen from a vehicle Friday afternoon. The vehicle owner gave a woman a ride the day before and believed she was responsible. 

3:05 p.m., Crystal Falls — A bag containing 100 rounds of 12-gauge shotgun shells and 400 rounds of 9mm ammunition was stolen from a man’s garage on the 17200 block of Nile River Drive.

3:51 p.m., Tuolumne — A woman was bitten by a dog on the 18700 block of Madrone Street.

SUNDAY

11:25 a.m., Chinese Camp — A real estate agent who has two houses for sale on the 9900 block of Washington Street, said the previous tenants, who live next door, keep stealing from the properties and vandalizing them. 

Felony bookings

FRIDAY

4:27 a.m., Sonora area — Danny Richard McLaughlin, 34, of the 17400 block of Campbells Flat Road, was booked on suspicion of transporting or selling drugs and committing a felony while released on bail, after an arrest on Silver Dawn Road near Phoenix Lake. 

3:45 p.m., Sonora area — Andrew John Labriola, 22, of the 700 block of South Barretta Street, was booked on suspicion of possession of drugs after an arrest on the 1100 block of Sanguinetti Road. He was also booked on suspicion of a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

11:30 p.m., Sonora area  — Quito Thor John Schacht, 53, of the 10300 block of Preston Lane, was booked on suspicion of willful infliction of corporal injury and violation of probation, after an arrest on Highway 49, near Pesce Way. 

SATURDAY

6:02 p.m., Sonora area — Adam Pierce Hoskins, 26, of the 10600 block of Jim Brady Road, was booked on suspicion of possession of drugs and possession of drugs for sale after an arrest on the 21100 block of Ridgeview Drive. He was also booked on suspicion of misdemeanor charges of providing false identification to a police officer and possession of drug paraphernalia, and an infraction of possession of marijuana. 

SUNDAY

5:09 a.m., Tuolumne — Nina Lynn Minick, 32, of the 100 block of Sunset Boulevard, Modesto, was booked on suspicion of possession of drugs after an arrest on the 18600 block of Main Street. She was also booked on suspicion of a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

9:30 a.m., East Sonora — Daniel James Stover, 42, of Sonora, was booked on suspicion of violation of probation after an arrest on the 13700 block of Mono Way.

4:08 p.m., Coulterville — James Wesley Kennedy, 71, of the 5800 block of Lozano Street, was booked on suspicion of assault with a firearm on a person after an arrest at his home.

12:25 a.m., Groveland — Kent William Zierenberg, 28, of the 19000 block of Raboul Court in Groveland, was booked after an arrest on the 19200 block of Oak Grove Circle.

1:20 a.m., Sonora area — Christopher Robin Niswonger, 22, of the 16900 block of North Mono Vista Road, was booked after an arrest on the 21900 block of Hunts Road. 

SUNDAY

12:32 a.m., Sonora — Thad Raymond Kiggins, 26, of the 10900 block of Green Street, was booked after an arrest on the 300 block of South Washington Street.

1:28 a.m., Sonora area — Shawn Lee Naves, 30, of the 680 block of Shaws Flat Road, was booked after an arrest on Highway 49, near Omar Drive. 

8:38 p.m., Jamestown area — Jose Luis Campos-Torres, 45, of the 560 block of E Street in Waterford, was booked after an arrest on Highway 49, north of Montezuma Road.

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

FRIDAY

11:26 a.m., theft — A student’s iPhone was stolen at Sonora High School.  His mother tracked it on iCloud and advised the police department. The phone was found, and two girls were transported back to school, then to the Probation department where they were released after being arrested on charges of grand theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy. The phone was returned to the owner.

3:12 p.m., assault — A man in his 30s who was down in the roadway at South Green and West Church streets was transported to Sonora Regional Medical Center by ambulance.

6:55 p.m., public intoxication — A man and woman sitting against a wall at Save Mart on Stockton Road were arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. Officers were unable to find a third person reported to have been with them.

10:13 p.m., fight — Four men were in a physical fight on South Washington Street near Stockton Road.

SATURDAY

2:11 a.m., assault — A physical fight occurred on South Washington Street, but the victim refused medical treatment and said he was unsure who assaulted him.

11:58 a.m., theft — A woman’s credit card was stolen from her purse by a man she had been dating. A surveillance camera caught the man using the card at a store in Riverbank. 

10:19 a.m., public intoxication — A 56-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication on Sanguinetti Road. 

10:30 a.m., controlled substances — A 19-year-old man was cited for possession of marijuana. 

3:40 p.m., disorderly conduct — Approximately six men were fighting in a parking lot on Sanguinetti Road. 

11:35 p.m., assault — An assault was reported at Courthouse Square on Washington Street.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

FRIDAY

8:38 a.m., Valley Springs — A residential burglary occurred on Hautly Lane.

1:22 p.m., Angels Camp — Someone reported a large fight in progress at the Glory Hole Campground.

4:36 p.m., Murphys — A burglary occurred on North Algiers Street.

5:05 p.m., West Point — A disturbance began because someone was cutting trees on a neighbor’s property on Higdon Road.

5:42 p.m., San Andreas — An arrest for public intoxication was made at the Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital emergency department on Mountain Ranch Road.

SATURDAY

12:13 a.m., Hathaway Pines — Someone was arrested for public intoxication on Canyon View Drive.

11:28 p.m., Mokelumne Hill — A window was smashed by an intoxicated patron at Hotel Leger on North Main Street.

SUNDAY

12:06 p.m., West Point — Firearms were discharged near Rhoda Niderost Lane.

12:44 p.m., Murphys — Vandalism and an attempted break-in were reported on Jones Street. 

1:56 p.m., Railroad Flat — A mountain lion was sighted on Railroad Flat Road. 

2:23 p.m., Copperopolis — A large amount of garbage was dumped on Lake Tulloch Place.

2:53 p.m., Railroad Flat — Shots from an automatic weapon were fired on Ridge Road. 

3:06 p.m., Burson — Twelve high-powered rifle shots were heard near Burson and Southworth roads.

3:13 p.m., Angels Camp — Shots were heard on Pinto Drive.

FRIDAY

9:25 a.m., San Andreas — Richard Reed Haight, 40, of the 7400 block of West Hill, was booked on suspicion of assault with a firearm on a person and possession of a firearm by a felon or addict, after an arrest on the 20 block of East St. Charles Street. He was also booked on suspicion of misdemeanor charges of false imprisonment and contempt of violation of a protective order.

SUNDAY

2:51 a.m., Valley Springs — Susanne Lynnette Paxia, 50, of the 11700 block of Wade Lane, was booked on suspicion of child cruelty after an arrest at her home.

11:20 p.m., Valley Springs — Johanna M. Smith, 52, of the 5900 block of Friedman Way, was booked after an arrest on the first block of Highway 26.
