By RUTH ABREO For The Union Democrat After Frank Silva started his night with a 133 in his first game, he had no idea what was in store. After starting off with three strikes, a leaguemate said something to the effect of, “Well, you have three strikes in a row, I guess you’re on the way to a 300.” Silva replied, "not hardly." Well, nine strikes later and Silva had a perfect game, which was a whopping 127 pins over his average. Silva far exceeded his previous high game of 249. Silva has been bowling since his high school and said he did not experience the typical “jello” knees. He was excited to have rolled the 300 with an older Rhino ball that he acquired from another fellow bowler. Rolling a 712, which is also 160 pins over his average and the high men’s series for this report, was Scott Newman (High Rollers). For the women, it was Mary Feola (High Rollers) with high game (225) and Joy Parades (Mixed Angels) with the high series (597). There were two other 700 series for this report, one bowled by Bob Thomas (Young at Heart) 709 and the other by Bob Chambers (Umchu Full House) 707. Bowling well for the youth were Mahalia Ford for the girls with a 169 and Jarrett Walker for the boys with 236/614 (almost outbowling his dad, Warren Walker). Jarrett’s game score was also 51 pins over his average and William Thomas bowled 90 pins over with a 483. Other notable scores for this report include: Monday Nevada – Robert Porovich 257/668, Dan Isam 258/695, and Irene Deaver 581; High Rollers — Frank Gaspardi 255/685, Kevin Flanagan 268, Mary Feola 558; Morning Rollers — Darvis Lee 256/658; Young at Heart — Mike Bowers 259/673, Bob Wright 256/675; Jokers Wild — Steve Feola 267/650, Steve Campbell 256, Dan Isam255/651, Warren Walker 658; Umchu Full House — Kevin Flanagan 266, Bob Chambers 265, Amanda Klaahsen 590, Warren Walker 682 and Jeremy Curry 676 and Mixed Angels — Joy Parades 224, Les Starks 256/687.
