TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

TUESDAY

3:25 a.m., Sonora area — A woman said she saw a bear on the 17900 block of Lime Kiln Road while on her way to work. She was provided the phone number for the California Department of Fish and Game.

7:07 a.m., Columbia — A man said he saw a woman tear down a rock wall on the 23200 block of Italian Bar Road. A report for vandalism was taken.

8:38 a.m., East Sonora — A woman said two potted plants about 3.5-feet tall and weighing roughly 50 to 60 pounds each were stolen from outside a business on the 14600 block of Mono Way. She said potted plants in front of the business were also taken about one month earlier.

9:10 a.m., Jamestown — Someone fraudulently used a person’s identification on the 18800 block of Omega Mine Road to make a purchase worth $3,754.70 from Apple computers.

10:42 a.m.,  Columbia — A generator was stolen on the 23200 block of Italian Bar Road.

12 p.m., Sonora area — A man on the 19600 block of Jamestown Road got his bank statement and discovered three fraudulent checks were written for a total of $950. He believes the checks were stolen during a burglary at his residence on Oct. 3.

5:16 p.m., Jamestown — A 34-year-old woman was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of public intoxication at Main and Smoke streets.

7:58 p.m., Sonora area — A man on the 20500 block of Bay Meadow Drive said someone made fraudulent charges to his bank card.

TUESDAY

2:49 p.m., Jamestown — Silas Kiwani Dyken, 28, of the 18200 block of Highway 108, was booked on suspicion of possession of marijuana or hashish for sale, after an arrest at his home.

Cited on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs:

TUESDAY

12:03 a.m., Soulsbyville — Jeremy James Williams, 25, transient, was arrested on Highway 108 west of Soulsbyville Road.

9:13 p.m., Confidence — Alan Wade Smith, 54, unknown address, was arrested on Highway 108 east of Confidence Road.

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

TUESDAY

8:49 a.m., theft — Something was stolen from a locked vehicle at the Tuolumne County Senior Center on Greenley Road.

12:42 p.m., vehicle theft — A man gave a woman a ride to Sonora, but prior to dropping her off, he stopped at the bank. The woman then went inside the bank, took his keys and ran out, taking his vehicle in the process. The man said he had no idea where the woman might be headed. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

3:50 p.m., public intoxication — A 25-year-old man and a 19-year-old man were arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of public intoxication after they were found passed out on Hospital Road.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

TUESDAY

8:04 a.m., Valley Springs — A bear was spotted around Friedman Way.

10:12 a.m., Copperopolis — A residence on Moccasin Court was burglarized.

11:03 a.m., Valley Springs — Two bears were seen in the area of Da Lee Road.

5:26 p.m., Arnold — A theft occurred at a business on Blagen Road.

8:36 a.m., Mountain Ranch — Miguel Topete Lopez, 37, of the 100 block of William Way, Pittsburg, Calif., was booked on suspicion of drug possession, possession of a firearm and ammunition, and manufacturing a drug, after an arrest on the 7700 block of Oak Lane.

10:45 a.m., Mountain Ranch — William Clarence Underhill, 61, of the 7700 block of Oak Lane, was booked on suspicion of possession of a firearm, after an arrest at his home.
