CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

MONDAY

8:21 a.m., Mountain Ranch — People were removing items from a foreclosed home on Betty Kay Lane. They actually were hired by a bank to do work on the property.

10:26 a.m., Mokelumne Hill — Cash and stamps were stolen on Calwood Court.

10:49 p.m., San Andreas — People on the roof of a business on Main Street were arrested on suspicion of public intoxication.

Fire calls

MONDAY

10:59 a.m., Arnold — A Cal Fire engine and personnel from Ebbetts Pass Fire Protection District responded to a small vegetation fire on the 600 block of Avery Sheep Ranch Road. Only a small patch of brush was burned and no one was injured. The fire was completely extinguished by 11:57 a.m. and remains under investigation. 

TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

MONDAY

11:29 a.m., Sonora area — A man on the 21300 block of Ridgeview Drive reported identity theft.

11:29 a.m., Columbia — A lockbox containing a bottle of pain medication was taken from a residence on the 12400 block of Big Hill Road.

1:33 p.m., Jamestown — A binder containing a search-and-rescue notebook and iPad was stolen after being left on a vehicle’s hood while the owner was at a business on the 18300 block of Highway 108.

1:44 p.m., Groveland — A man on the 12000 block of Hillhurst Circle said his tax return was rejected and believed someone was illegally using his identity.

2:36 p.m., Jamestown — Someone took off a door to a cabinet at a business on the 18100 block of Main Street and stole a display case with about 50 to 100 turquoise and silver rings.

2:37 p.m., Groveland — A vehicle struck a building on the 18900 block of Main Street. No one was hurt and the investigation was handled by California Highway Patrol.

5:33 p.m., Sonora area — Gas was stolen during the night on the 10900 block of Derby Drive.

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

MONDAY

9:10 a.m., burglary — A business on Sanguinetti Road was burglarized.

10:34 a.m., animal complaints — Someone on South Barretta Street said a male Siamese cat with a light body and dark face and tail has been missing since Oct. 12.

10:58 a.m., public intoxication — A 33-year-old woman was found “passed out” on South Washington Street. She was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication.

6:40 p.m., suspicious circumstances — Someone saw fire shooting straight into the air on Shaws Flat Road. An officer checked into it and determined it was a controlled propane burn off.

11:01 p.m., public intoxication — A 47-year-old man and 45-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of public intoxication in front of a residence on West Sunset Street.
