Isam, Mercado Jr. find the strike zone – a lot

Finding the strike zone without a whole lot of trouble was Dan Isam (Monday Nevada) as he rolled the highest series — a 760. 

Trini Mercado, Jr. (Gamblers Getaway) experienced the same as he rolled a 279 — high game for the men and 79 pins over average.  

Also bowling a 700 series were High Roller league-mates Steve Feola and Warren Walker. Feola had a 708, Walker 705.

Doing quite well for the women in the series area were Alicia Filiberti (High Rollers) with a 623 and holding her own for high game was Amanda Klaahsen (Monday Nevada) with a 243.

In the “I can’t believe I beat myself” department, the only qualifying person was Joe Patania (Jokers Wild), 89 pins over with 237, and Chuck Farris (Early Birds) 158 over with a 686.   

Black Oak’s Senior No-Tap Tournament had the following winning scores: Men — Edison Tierra 868, Carroll Manning 841 and Larry Lund and Scott Newman tied with 838.  For the women it was Debbie Silva 845, Kay Hunter 814 and Joann Cope 804.  

The annual Association Meeting will be held on Sunday and it is open to all current paid members. Topics include election of officers/directors and a proposed amendment change. 

The meeting is at the TUD offices on Tuolumne Road at 10 a.m.

Youth: For the girls’, Sierra Scott rolled a 155 and Mahalia Ford had the high series, 435. For the boys’, Jarrett Walker led with 237/561. Walker’s game was 55 pins over average while William Thomas was 84 pins over average with a 210 game.  

Answer: Over 60 million Americans bowl at least once a year.
