A 54-year-old woman was injured in a traffic accident Monday on Highway 120 west of Green Springs.

Columbia resident April Boland was driving her 2001 Toyota Sienna minivan east on Highway 120 about 60 mph when, due to suspected impairment, she lost control of the vehicle and veered off the side of the road, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Ken Bruce.

Her minivan continued down an embankment in a northeast direction, flipped three times and came to a rest in the center of westbound Highway 120, Bruce said.

A Caltrans worker was driving in the opposite direction when she witnessed the crash and called authorities about 10:30 a.m., Bruce said.

Boland was taken from the scene by helicopter to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto with a fractured neck, pelvis, clavicle and lacerated liver, according to Bruce.

Her condition this morning was not immediately available. Bruce said CHP officers suspected prescription drugs played a role in the crash.
