Voters in about a dozen of Tuolumne County’s school and special districts will have the chance to cast ballots for their district representatives at the polls this November.
The final deadline to appear on the ballot passed as of 5 p.m. Wednesday. Here are the races that will appear on the general election ballot, along with the candidates: • Tuolumne Utilities District: Bob Behee, Ron Ringen and Dennis Dahlin, David Evans, Jim Grinnell, John Maciel, Michael Sarno, Kent Johnson, David Axelrod. • Big Oak Flat-Groveland Unified School District: Paul Spring, Gloria Marler, John Infelise. • Columbia Elementary School District: Jenny David, Danese Pimentel, Jo Rodefer. • Curtis Creek School District: Marge Jones, Courtney Castle, Mike Holland. • Sonora Union High School District Area 2: Erik Andal, Katryn Weston. • Summerville Union High School District: Dennis Spisak, David Marquez, Carrie Ashe. • Soulsbyville Elementary School District: Heather Spangler, David Titchenal, Denise Houghton. • Summerville Elementary School District: Rachel Bell, Sondra Ledsome, Lisa Marquez. • Columbia Fire: Mary O’Hearn, Paul Waite, Guy Emery. • Strawberry Fire: William Cashman, Denise Jackson-Martin. Potential candidates had until Monday at 5 p.m. to complete their paperwork with the Tuolumne County Elections Office, though a number of races received the two-day extension because at least one incumbent did not file the paperwork. Elections where there are not more candidates than available seats will not appear on the ballot. The race for Tuolumne Utilities District appears to be a big one this year, with nine candidates including three incumbents vying for four seats on the board. Tuolumne County Board of Education, Belleview School District, Sonora Elementary School District, Sonora Union High School District Area 1, Twain Harte CSD, Tuolumne Parks and Recreation District, Jamestown Fire, Mi-Wuk Sugar Pine Fire, Jamestown Elementary School District, Twain Harte-Long Barn Union High School District, Groveland CSD, Tuolumne Fire and Jamestown Sanitary will not appear on the November ballot. |
