Allen Bertram ‘Bert’ Wilson

June 2, 1923 — Dec. 3, 2011

Jamestown resident Allen Bertram “Bert” Wilson died Dec. 3, 2011, in his daughter’s home in Hawthorne, Nev. He was 88 years old. 

Mr. Wilson was born in Butte, Mont., and met Mary Lois Hinman when they were children in school. They wed in 1944. 

The couple moved to Tuolumne County from Morro Bay 21 years ago to be closer to family. 

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and worked as a gardener and roofer until retirement. He enjoyed river rafting, hiking, bicycling, fishing, clamming, gardening, reading and traveling. 

He traveled throughout the United States and went backpacking in Peru. 

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. 

Mr. Wilson’s wife died shortly after him on Jan. 22, 2012, also at their daughter’s home. 

He is survived by three daughters, Sandra Burns, of Big Pine, Sharon Funck, of Hawthorne, Nev., and Leslie Carter, of Sonora; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. 

A joint service for Mr. and Mrs. Wilson was held July 28 in Jamestown with a military honor guard.

Mary Lois (Hinman) Wilson

Aug. 27, 1923 — Jan. 22, 2012

Jamestown resident Mary Lois (Hinman) Wilson died Jan. 22 in her daughter’s home in Hawthorne, Nev. She was 88 years old. 

Mrs. Wilson was born in Clancy, Mont., and met Allen Bertram Wilson when they were children in school. They wed in 1944. 

The couple moved to Tuolumne County from Morro Bay 21 years ago to be closer to family. 

Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker for many years. After her children were grown, she went back to school and became a certified dietician. She worked as a dietary supervisor at a convalescent home. 

She enjoyed the ocean, fishing, camping, cooking, gardening and sewing. 

Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband in December 2011, also at their daughter’s home. 

She is survived by three daughters, Sandra Burns, of Big Pine, Sharon Funck, of Hawthorne, Nev., and Leslie Carter, of Sonora; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. 

A joint service for Mr. and Mrs. Wilson was held July 28 in Jamestown.

Rhonda Lea Anderson

May 16, 1952 — July 30, 2012

San Andreas resident Rhonda Lea Anderson died July 30 at her home. She was 60. 

Mrs. Anderson was born in Hemet and moved to San Andreas 15 years ago.

She was a homemaker and an artist. She enjoyed painting, arts, crafts, gardening and working in her yard. 

Mrs. Anderson is survived by her husband of 23 years, Randy Anderson, of San Andreas; her children, Charity McCoy, of Valley Springs, and Tamara Ray, of Suisun City; siblings, Dale Rosanbalm, of Hemet, Sherry Setera, of Chico, and Susan Stanford, of Chico; and three grandchildren. 

A celebration of life was held at the family residence. San Andreas Memorial Chapel handled arrangements.

O’CONNOR — Wilma “Billie” O’Connor, 94, of Angels Camp, died Friday at home. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
