CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

THURSDAY

9:06 a.m., Valley Springs — Equipment was stolen on Dennis Lane.

10:46 a.m., Arnold — There was a possible burglary at a residence on Blue Lake Springs Drive.

10:52 a.m., Vallecito — A suspicious man was seen walking dressed in camouflage and carrying a shotgun near Parrotts Ferry Road and Natural Bridges Hiking Trail.

1:12 p.m., West Point — Flooring was stolen on Bald Mountain Road.

2:33 p.m., Avery — A computer was stolen from Avery Middle School on Moran Road.

10:07 p.m., Burson — A residential burglary was reported by someone on Olive Branch Lane.

TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

THURSDAY

10:27 a.m., Jamestown — Cash was stolen on the 19100 block of Rawhide Road.

10:37 a.m., Sonora — A chainsaw was stolen from a shed on the 22200 Vilas Lane sometime between March 5 and 8. The person reporting the theft had possible suspect information.

10:48 a.m., Tuolumne — Someone at a market on the 18300 block of Tuolumne Road reported receiving some fraudulent checks.

12:58 p.m., Soulsbyville — A man from the 17000 block of Mono Vista Road said someone fraudulently used his bank information to make about $142.80 in purchases.

3:25 p.m., Columbia — A residence on the 11800 block of Columbia College Drive was burglarized between 9:30 a.m. and the time the report was made. Items missing included a Playstation 3, Xbox, guitar, guitar amplifier, laptop computer, watch, and suitcase.

3:42 p.m., Twain Harte — A woman said her residence on the 19700 block of West View Drive was burglarized sometime in the past month. Access to the home was gained through a side door.

3:48 p.m., Twain Harte — Three men, who were possibly intoxicated, were seen urinating in public at Eproson Park. They were gone when deputies arrived at the scene.

4 p.m., Jamestown — Someone with Tuolumne County Animal Control on Victoria Place said an intoxicated woman was pounding on the building’s door. She left heading east in a blue minivan and the incident was referred to California Highway Patrol.

4:25 p.m., Sonora area — The door of a residence on the 14900 block of Los Robles Lane was kicked in but nothing appeared to be missing.

6:52 p.m., Columbia — A man on the 23500 block of Italian Bar Road said a large goat was on his property trying to break his door down and he wanted deputies to respond with a bunch of “bullets” or contact Animal Control. A deputy explained he can’t shoot a domestic animal or fit a large goat in his vehicle and Animal Control wouldn’t be available until the morning.

8:14 p.m., Sonora area — A man driving a Chevy Astrovan, possibly under the influence of alcohol, tried to ram through a woman’s gate on the 19700 block of Ivy Drive. The woman provided the man’s name to authorities and a be-on-the-look advisory was issued.

Arrests

Cited on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs:

THURSDAY

6:43 p.m., Groveland — David Jeffrey Carideo, 36, of the 600 block of Cabrillo Villas, Los Angeles, was arrested on Highway 120 west of Smith Station Road.

9:01 p.m., South County — Laura Anne Stewart, 45, of the 12700 block of Avenue 22, Chowchilla, was arrested on Highway 108 at La Grange Road.

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

THURSDAY

10:51 a.m., found property — Someone found a .45 caliber bullet on Hillsdale Drive that appeared to have been run over. The person was concerned the bullet would discharge if run over again. An office responded to gather the bullet and turned it over to the range master for destruction.

1:15 p.m., assault — A woman at a grocery store on Mono Way said she was physically assaulted and $500 was stolen from her. She declined medical treatment and only knew the first name of the suspect, who she said left in an unknown direction in a vehicle. She was calling from a taxi that was taking her to the Racetrack Road area, but she had it drop her off at the police department instead to speak with officers.

3:49 p.m., burglary — Someone said a burglary occurred to a pool house in the backyard of a residence on Oakside Drive.

6:41 p.m., suspicious circumstances — There was a report of a girl about 15 or 16 years old being “dragged, pulled and pushed” into a vehicle by a man about 16 or 17 near Sonora Elementary School. The vehicle was described as a “silver older car” and a partial license plate was provided. Sonora police issued a be-on-the-lookout advisory for the vehicle, which was found shortly after. The girl said she was not forced into the vehicle and officers contacted her parents.

7:29 p.m., theft — Someone reported a wallet stolen from in front of a location on Mono Way. The exact location was withheld by Sonora police.

9:48 p.m., drugs — Someone said a bag of methadone was thrown into the bushes near a residence on Bonanza Road. Officers were unable to locate the drugs.

10:05 p.m., assault — A man said he was assaulted by another man at Sonora Express Mart on Pesce Way. The suspect left in a U-Haul moving truck with Arizona license plates. The victim declined medical attention.

10:35 p.m., theft — A woman at a restaurant on Sanguinetti Road said her purse was stolen. She didn’t provide any suspect information.
