Claim Jumpers earn home win vs. West Hills

    The Columbia Claim Jumpers took care of business on their home court Saturday night, defeating West Hills 72-67 at Oak Pavilion.
      Columbia broke a two-game losing streak and evened its Central Valley Conference record to 2-2 and are 8-9 overall.
    West Hills enjoyed a 42-35 halftime lead before Columbia rallied in the second half behind Wayne Surin’s 11 points. Surin topped a balanced team scoring effort with 13 points.
    Also for Columbia, Alston Friday scored 12 points, Keith Robinson and Tony Williams added 11 and Ashton Richardson and Jalen Bourbon scored 10 each.
    Columbia next will play at Merced on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
