The Diamondback Grill, a popular downtown restaurant known for its hamburgers, is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a charity burger drive.
The restaurant has joined with the Sonora Area Foundation by donating $1 for every burger sold on Oct. 28, the same day the restaurant opened in 1991. The foundation offers support to local non-profit organizations through donations, grants and leadership.
“It’s quite a milestone that we have made it to 20 years and we are proud to be part of such a wonderful community that has always enthusiastically embraced our restaurant,” said owner Eric Davis.
The restaurant originally opened its doors in a 25-seat diner on the west side of Washington Street. It later moved to a larger space on the east side of the street.
Among other things, it serves half-pound burgers, marinated chicken salads and chilies stuffed with goat cheese.
