‘Energy Savings’

The Angels Camp Business Association will present “Real Energy Savings for Businesses” at 5:30 p.m. on Monday at Camps Restaurant in Greenhorn Creek.
The Sierra Nevada Energy Watch Project will be the main topic. It is a free program in Calaveras County. Any business or entity with a commercial Pacific Gas and Electric utility bill qualifies for a free audit of their energy usage with a report and recommendations for energy savings.
The majority of the costs for the energy efficiency improvements are offset by various incentive programs available through March 2012.  The project handles all paperwork for the business to receive funding from a federal government program. Most businesses recoup their part of their costs within three to six months, officials said.
Led by Emily Williams, energy associate for the Sierra Business Council, and Jim Heryford, owner of Gold Electric, the program will also feature local businesses who have already participated in the Energy Watch Project: Motherlode Motorsports, Angels Camp Veterinary Hospital and Gateway Press.
