The Tuolumne County Economic Development Authority will present the NxLevel, a 12-week professional business series, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. every Wednesday Aug. 24 through Nov. 16 at the Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce, 222 S. Shepherd St., downtown Sonora.
The cost of the business series is usually $399 but the California Small Business Development Center is offering $300 scholarships to the first 20 people to register, bringing the cost to $99. Payment is due in advance.
Taught by Kurtis Clark, the center director of the Alliance Small Business Development Center in Modesto, the class will learn about elements of a good business plan, outlining your marketing strategy, proper product and service pricing, using financial reports as a management tool, e-mail, websites and social media, taxes and business insurance and financing.
Each week, a local guest speaker will also come and demonstrate how they have applied the topics from the series to their real life and business practices.
Upon completing the series, participants will earn a certificate of completion.
For more information or to register for the series, call 677-7822.
