Obituaries for June 2, 2009 |
Deborah Louise Matthews Mrs. Matthews was a lifelong resident of Tuolumne. She graduated from Summerville High School in 1979. She worked at Sonora Mining Corp. for several years, and was most recently employed by Sonora Oxygen Service. Her family said her interests were family, computers and gardening. She is survived by her parents, Bill and Kathy Bishop, of Tuolumne; her husband, Eric Matthews, of Tuolumne; brothers, Mike Bishop, of Jamestown, and Barry Bishop and his wife, Jodie, of Sonora; and several nieces and nephews. A service was scheduled at 11 a.m. today at Tuolumne Baptist Church, 18428 Fir Ave., Tuolumne.
Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Ms. White was born in Altadena, Los Angeles County, and lived in Sonora for 10 years. She owned and operated a housekeeping business for 10 years. Ms. White enjoyed painting objects like yard art and family members said she was “very crafty” and made wreaths. She loved gardening, cats and dressing up and going out. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Mary Lou White; and her brother, Rick White. Ms. White is survived by her aunt, Lois Opel; her uncle, Bob Howard; her niece, Erin White; cousins Bill and Allan Opel and Sarah Jamison; and many other family members in Orange and Los Angeles counties.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. June 20 at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home, which is handling arrangements. KOPONEN — Priscilla Koponen, 68, of Columbia, died Friday at her home.
