The Sonora High School boys varsity basketball team fell in the second round of the CIF Sac-Joaquin playoffs to Foothill, 73-63.

The Wildcats’ regular season success included an undefeated record, the Mother Lode League championship and the top seed heading into the post-season.

As the first half ended, the Mustangs had a five-point lead over the Wildcats, 28-25.

The Wildcats came out in the third with a strong offensive push, said coach Lloyd Longeway. And with 4:50 left in the game they were protecting a six-point lead.
