Sonora Elks Lodge announces annual Hoop Shoot winners

The Elks Lodge held its annual Hoop Shoot for kids 8-13. Competitors were divided into girls and boys and grouped into age brackets, 8-9, 10-11 and 12-13.

The first round consisted of 10 shots. The second round was 15 shots.

First, second and third place trophies were awarded.

The first place winners in the 8-9 age group were Derrick Crowder and Savanna Smith.

In the 10-11 group Gyver Crawford and Ava Darby were the winners.

Winners have been invited to move on to the regional competition held in Modesto. From there contestants move on to the state championships. Winners from each state then have the chance to compete in the finals. Those are planned for April of 2018 in Chicago.
