The California Highway Patrol - Sonora Area is seeking information on a dark colored pickup truck involved in a Sept. 30 hit-and-run accident on Tuolumne Road that left a Twain Harte woman with major injuries.
At about 7:40 p.m., Elizabeth Porta, 55, of Twain Harte, was driving southbound on Tuolumne Road North in a 2015 Jeep Wrangler, south of Moore Road in the area of Twain Harte.
A pickup was traveling northbound on Tuolumne Road North at the same time, hooked to a trailer carrying a salvaged dark green Toyota 4-Runner. The trailer swung into the southbound Lane and collided with Porta’s vehicle, a CHP news release said.
Porta was taken to Adventist Health Sonora for treatment of major injuries
According to witnesses, the truck left the scene and then returned before fleeing again.
Witnesses described the truck as black or dark blue with a small lift and big wheels.
The incident is still under investigation and the driver of the dark colored pickup truck is wanted for questioning, the CHP said.
The CHP is asking the public for any information regarding the driver of the pickup truck or the salvaged Toyota.
The news release also added that the driver of the pickup “is also encouraged to call and provide a statement in order to give their side of the story.”
