Bowlin’ For Your Colon to raise health awareness
Adventist Health Sonora will hold “Bowlin’ for your Colon” in honor of National Colon Cancer Awareness Month in March.
The event will be held from 7 to 9:30 p.m. March 31 at Black Oak Lanes at Black Oak Casino Resort in Tuolumne and will offer education, fun and games to raise awareness for early detection and treatment of colon cancer, stated a hospital press release.
The free event is open to the first 120 people to register and is sponsored by gastroenterologists Neal Kaushal, M.D., and Rodney Eddi, M.D.

Better Breathers Support Group offered
Adventist Health Sonora offers a support group for people with chronic lung disease including asthma, COPD, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, pulmonary fibrosis and sarcoidosis.
The American Lung Association’s Better Breathers’ Club meets at 12:30 p.m. every other month at the Pulmonary Rehabilitation clinic at 19747 Greenley Road in Sonora. Meeting on the second Wednesday, every other month, the remaining dates for 2018 are May 9, July 11, Sept. 12 and Nov. 14.
The Better Breathers support group is free and offers patient-centered and community-based education and support for anyone living with chronic lung disease along with their family, friends and caregivers. The Better Breathers Club aims to:
• Improve quality of life
• Provide disease-specific education
• Help patients and families understand basic concepts and techniques for pulmonary self-care and coping skills
• Educate patients and families on the care and treatments for chronic lung diseases

Infant car seat
Adventist Health Sonora and the California High Patrol will offer free infant car seat safety training March 24 on the hospital campus, 1000 Greenley Road in Sonora.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside the ground-floor Rehabilitation entrance. In case of rain, the event will be held outside the Professional Center 900 building.
The CHP will hold infant car seat safety training at Adventist Health Sonora on the fourth Saturday of each odd-numbered month, except November, when it will be the third Saturday.
