Support offered for
the visually impaired
A support group for people who are visually impaired meets on the first Tuesday of the month in the multipurpose room at Sonora Hills, 19601 Greenley Road in Sonora.
Meetings are held from 10:30 a.m. to noon and are open to anyone with a visual impairment, caregivers and those who may wish to help those in need.
The purpose of the support group is to discuss the challenges of vision loss, share and offer solutions to independent living concerns, and to provide caring support and encouragement as well as helpful information and education.

Adventist Health Sonora offers diabetes prevention class
Adventist Health Sonora will offer “PreventT2,” a program designed to help people with prediabetes prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes.
PreventT2 is open to anyone 18 or older who meets the following criteria:
• Available to attend most of the 25 meetings throughout the year
• Body mass index over 24.0 kg/m2
• Recent blood test indicating prediabetes
• Or screens positive for prediabetes by taking the screening test atwww.cdc.gov/diabetes/prevention/pdf/prediabetestest.pdf
PreventT2 is provided by the Diabetes Resource Center at Adventist Health Sonora and will begin in January. A physician referral is not required but is recommended. Enrollment is limited.
