Hospice to light
annual Tree of Lights
The Hospice of Amador and Calaveras will host its annual Tree of Lights memorial celebration Dec. 2.
For a $10 donation, hospice will place a light on the tree, and the name or names of people being memorialized on a memorial board at the site. The remembrances will be displayed throughout the holiday season.
The celebration will begin at 5 p.m. at the hospice’s thrift store in Angels Camp, 570 N. Main St., and will include a statement by Chaplain Mike Wilson, music, a celebratory candle-lighting and reading of names and, finally, the lighting of the Tree of Lights.
Light refreshments will be served.

Relay for Life Team meet set Dec. 14
Relay for Life Tuolumne County will hold a Team Meeting at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 14 at the Tuolumne County Ambulance headquarters, 18440 Striker Court, off Tuolumne Road in East Sonora.
Anyone wishing to register a team, find out how to become a team or find more information about the event is invited to attend.
The 20th annual Relay for Life is set for May 5 and 6 on the Westside property in Tuolumne.

Project offers free help to depressed seniors
People age 60 and older who are experiencing symptoms of depression can receive 12 weeks of free in-home counseling or peer support through the SPARROW Project.
The project is a service of the Mother Lode Office of Catholic Charities in Sonora.

Support offered to Parkinson’s patients, families
Support for people with Parkinson’s disease and their loved ones is offered once a month in Sonora.
The Sonora Parkinson’s Support Group meets from 10 to 11:30 a.m. every second Monday at the in Sonora Hills Clubhouse multipurpose room.

Hospice of the Sierra offers Grief Support Groups in Sonora and Murphys.
The Sonora group is offered from 6 to 7:30 Mondays and 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesdays at 20100 Cedar Road N. in Sonora. Call (209) 586-5687 for more information.
