NAMI of Tuolumne County meets today
National Alliance on Mental Illness will meet at 6 p.m. today in the Community Hall at St. James Episcopal Church (the Red Church) in downtown Sonora.
Martha Golay of the Amador-Tuolumne Community Action Agency will be guest speaker.
A potluck also will be held.
Cancer support group meets in Angels Camp
The Calaveras Cancer Support Group will meet at 10 a.m. today at Camps Restaurant at Greenhorn Creek, 676 McCauley Ranch Road in Angels Camp.
Guest speaker will be Denni Oravec, who was originally diagnosed with cancer in 1995 and is currently being treated for stage IV metastatic breast cancer. She will talk about how the book “Love, Medicine and Miracles” impacted her life and what aspects of the book were important to her.
The meetings are free and open to the public, caregivers, cancer patients and survivors.

The Visually Impaired Persons support group meets from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on the first Tuesday of the month at the Sonora Hills clubhouse off Greenley Road in Sonora.
The purpose of the group is to discuss the challenges of vision loss, share and offer solutions to independent living concerns, and to provide support and encouragement as well as information and education.

Grief support offered by Hospice of the Sierra
Hospice of the Sierra offers Grief Support Groups in Sonora and Murphys.
