Sonora man with three pending drug cases arrested on new charges

The Tuolumne Narcotics Team arrested two residents of a Wilcox Ranch Road home in Sonora early Thursday morning following an investigation into a Sonora man who was out on bail for three-drug related cases.

The Tuolumne Narcotics Team, SWAT, detectives and the High Risk Probation Team served a search warrant on the 8500 block of Wilcox Ranch Road home just before 8 a.m. Thursday, discovering two residents to be in possession of methamphetamine, heroin, packaging material, hypodermic needles, drug paraphernalia, a pay-owe sheet and a digital scale.

The man in the home was in possession of more than 6 grams of methamphetamine, while the woman was in possession of just under a gram of heroin.

Nicole Sample Ley, 26, was booked on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia and was booked into the Tuolumne County Jail. Her bail was set at $5,000 bail.

Dustin Robert Stevens, 29, was booked on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, committing a felony while out on bail, keeping a place to sell a narcotic controlled substance and misdemeanor charges possession of a controlled substance and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia and booked into the Tuolumne County Jail.

His bail was set at $20,000.

On Oct. 23, Stevens was arrested at the 11300 block of Golden Dove Lane in Jamestown when the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office High Risk Supervision Team was attempting to locate a probationer at the residence.

Deputies said Stevens had four grams of methamphetamine and eight small baggies of heroin wrapped in plastic. He was arrested and charged with possession of narcotic controlled substance for sale, and was arrested on Oct. 13 in Sonora for driving with a suspended license. At the time of the Oct. 23 arrest, Stevens had a Tuolumne County warrant for failing to appear on a misdemeanor possession of controlled substance paraphernalia charge.
