With two outs and the bases loaded in the top of the seventh inning, the Summerville Bears baseball team had an opportunity to tie the game or take the lead.

But Calaveras left-handed pitcher Wyatt Durham forced Preston Leslie to flyout to right field to help lift the Redskins to a 1-0 Mother Lode League victory over Summervilleon Wednesdayat The Ball Park in San Andreas.

"We definitely had a good scoring chance there, and just didn't get it done," said Summerville head coach Larry Gold. "It was a pitcher's duel."

Durham tossed a complete game and allowed just four hits while striking out a game-high six. He walked two in his shutout performance.

"He never lost his composure," Gold said of Durham. "He's a good pitcher."

Calaveras scored the contest's only run in the bottom of the first and that happened to be all the offense the Redskins needed.

Jason Kennedy went 2 for 3 while Malachi Stockdale and Mason Viera had a hit each. Viera drove in Stockdale for the game-winner.

For Summerville, Preston Leslie, Danny Robles, Darren Warnock and Alex Barnes all had a single. Bryce Farrell and Robles both reached base on walks.

Robles got the nod on the mound and the sophomore right-hander gave up only four hits with an earned run. He struck out five.

"I can't say enough for our sophomore on the mound," Gold said of Robles. "He showed he can play wth the best of them."
