The Calaveras Redskins girls' soccer team fell to Amador 2-0 in a Mother Lode League matchon Tuesdayat Frank Meyer Field in San Andreas.

Amador got on the scoreboard in the opening 40 minutes and added another strike in the second half.

"A lot of teams have great defenses this season," said Calaveras head coach Rob Leetham. "Our offense is not clicking so far. We're just not finishing shots. We had several chances in the second half and just can't quite finish. That's been a problem for us all season. Amador is a great team. They have a great defense. They got us tonight."

Despite the loss, Leethan feels his team's effort has been there all year long.

"I thought we had great intensity," he said. "I thought we fought hard. We did a lot of good things, we just struggled once again with finishing shots. We are happy with the girls' attitude and intensity. They're working hard. We just have to improve on finishing goals, and if that happens, we'll turn our season around."

Calaveras has been scoreless in its past two games, but has shown in glimpses it has the capability to net goals. In the team's back-to-back wins over Summerville and Argonaut, the Redskins tallied five goals in total.

After two straight home games, the Redskins (2-4 MML) will hit the road against Lindenon Thursday. Kickoff is at5:30 p.m.

"I just feel if we can knock a goal in, that'll get us back on track," Leetham said.
