The 1-mile family fun run begins at9 a.m., and the 4-mile run follows at 10.

The cost for adults is $40 for one race and includes a long sleeved poly tech shirt, if available. For both races, it's $50. Children under 13, one race is $20 and $30 to race in two events. For Special Olympians, it's $10 for two.

Race day registration for adults is $40 for one race and $50 for both; and for children it's $10 and $15, and $10 for Special Olympians.

There are 10 different age groups: 1-11, 12-14, 15-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 and 80-plus.

New to the race this year is an automatic timing system.

"It's a chip timing system," said Sonora Sunrise Rotary event chair Aimee Campiotti. "There will be a chip on the participant's bib, and you will get instant results when you cross the finish line."

The race benefits Tuolumne County Special Olympics.

"What's really important is that the proceeds go to the local Special Olympics," Campiotti said. "It's actually for anything they need help with. Any support they need: events, supplies and travel costs."

A completed pre-registration form and check can be mailed to Sonora Sunrise Rotary Foundation at 29th Orient Express Run Sunrise Rotary, P. O. Box 4495, Sonora, Calif., 95370.

For more information, contact Campiotti at 743-9815.
