Claim Jumpers fall at Reedley

The Columbia Claim Jumpers suffered a 58-54 Central Valley Conference setbackWednesdaynight against host Reedley.

The Claim Jumpers (8-10, 1-2 CVC) were tied with the Cougars 27-27 at halftime.

"We played very good defnese, but probably our weakest area was they got too many second and third chances," said Claim Jumper asisstant coach Rick Francis. "And down the stretch we had a couple of shots that didn't go and they had a couple that did."

Rafe King led Columbia with 18 points, including three 3-pointers and Tige Wingo added 13.

Walter Orr led Reedley (8-8, 2-1) with 17 points and Craig Simpson pitched in 12.

Columbia will play at Merced (2-13, 1-2)Saturdayat 7.
