The Summerville Bears junior varsity boys' basketball team swept the competition at the Sonora Wildcats' preseason tournament this past weekend.
On Friday, Summerville edged Sonora 58-55.
The Wildcats led 43-37 after three quarters, but that advantage was trimmed by Summerville's Chad Sweitzer, who hit two crucial 3-pointers in the final period to lead a late Bears' rally.
Jake Noonan led the Bears with 11 points and Cole Brewster finished with nine.
The Bears defeated Argonaut 70-58 in their Saturday morning game.
Summerville bolted out to a 35-23 lead at halftime and coasted the last two quarters to win back-to-back matches.
Sam Burns was the top scorer for the Bears with 14 points, and Cameron Saunders and Noonan both chipped in 13. Sweitzer nailed two 3-pointers and ended with 10 points.
Against Tioga High's varsity later in the day, the Bears beat the Timberwolves 57-49 to cap off their three-game winning streak.
Burns dropped a team-best 17 points and Brewster drained 11 to lead the Bears to the title.
"The tournament was a true team effort as every team member scored and grabbed at least one rebound," said Summerville JV head coach Mike McLaurin.
