Snow doesn’t slow shooters Saturday at ML Gun Club

Twenty-four competitors braved the snowSaturdayto compete in the last high power match of 2013 at Mother Lode Gun Club.

Shooters traveled from the Bay Area, Southern California, Davis, Chowchilla, Modesto, Twain Harte and Mi Wuk. Another two dozen came to enjoy the show and participated in the barbeque following the match.

Match winner was Hugh 'Conar' Braly, of Copperopolis, shooting a 488-23X out of 500.

Morgan Owen, of Sonora, was First Master, closely behind Braly with a score of 487-14X. Coming in Second Master was Brad Pappageorge, of Copperopolis, shooting a 482-11X, followed by Forrest Greenwood, of Ceres, with a score of 481-9X.

First Expert went to Modesto's Carl Tennis, shooting a 472-13X. Murray Moore, of Twain Harte, took Second Expert with a 471-8X, and Joshua Bick, of Tuolumne, was third with a score 468-8X.

Steve Grove, of Davis, took First Marksman, shooting 407-1X with his son, Miles Grove, coming in second with 392-0X.

First Unclassified went to Justin George, of Corcoran, shooting a 416-0X. Nathaniel Nye, of Twain Harte, came in second with a 315-1X followed by Levi Ichord, of Waterford, shooting a 260-2X with his first competition.

The first match of 2014 will be on Saturday, Jan. 4.

Registration starts at8 a.m., and shooting commences at 9.
