Bret Harte's Jaymie Heryford earned fifth placeon Mondaywhile Sonora's Emma Holloway finished eighth to lead their respective golf teams to sixth and seventh-place finishes in the 2013 Girls' Yellowjacket Invitational held at Stevinson Ranch.
Heryford, a senior, shot an even 100 and finished nine shots behind the leader, Ashley Cho, of Capital Christian in the 12-team event.
The Bullfrogs had a team score of 456 with the Wildcats right behind at 466. Benicia won the invitational with a score of 400. Holloway shot a 104 and finished tied with two others in the 57-golfer field.
Also for Bret Harte, Rilee Hilman shot a 106 to finish 12th, Keryn Thompson shot a 116 to finish 25th and Hannah Ellsworth shot a 135.
For Sonora, Megan Popovich carded a 111 for 19th place, Jacqui Jordet shot a 118 for 29th and Olivia Partone shot a 133.
The Bullfrogs will get back into the Valley Foothill League today at 3:30 p.m. against Riverbank at Escalon Golf Course.
The Wildcats will resume their Valley Oak League schedule today vs. Lathrop at3:30 p.m.at Phoenix Lake.
Wayne memorial footrace to be held
A 10K memorial race will honor a Sonora woman who was tragically killed last year in an accident.
"Share the Lane for Amy Wayne: A Glam 10K Run," will be held onSunday, Oct. 27, at the Knights Ferry Recreation Area.

8th Red Cross Bowl-A-Rama onOct. 19
Black Oak Casino will host the 8th annual Red Cross Bowl-A-Rama onSaturday, Oct. 19, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.in Tuolumne.
Individuals or teams, up to four bowlers, may participate.
Entry fee is $50 per bowler and includes a free T-shirt.
Funds raised will be used to support local Red Cross efforts in the Mother Lode.

Freshman Smith is4th fastest for Troy
Sonora 2013 graduate Samantha Smith ran to a 24th place finishon Fridayfor Troy University at the Gerogia State Cross Country Invitational.
Smith was the fourth fastest for her Division I college in a time of16:19.04.
Troy finished fourth as a team and overall 73 runners participated in the event.
JV grid Bears win 3rd straight game
The Summerville Bears JV football team continued its impressive start to the 2013 season with a 19-7 come-from-behind victory over Denair during last Friday's homecoming game.
Down 7-0 in the second quarter, sophomore quarterback Travis Rodgers connected with Jake Noonan, a 6-foot-3 wide receiver, for a 50-yard touchdown pass.
Rodgers put the Bears up for good when he threw a 40-yard strike to tight end Cole Brewster in the third quarter.
Bear Ryan Whalen iced the game with a 30-yard punt return a few minutes later to seal the Bears' third straight win and an undefeated 3-0 record.
