Wildcats race to 12th-place finish

The Sonora Wildcat cross country team raced to a 12th place finish at the 3.1-mile, 21-team Hornet Jamboree in Granite Park, Sacramento.

Senior Steven Grolle led the Wildcats with a sixth place finish in the 171-runner field in 15:50.7.

Four runners set new personal record times: Shaan French Jr. (17:31), Paul Mika (17:56.9), Thomas Kruetzfeld (18:03.3) and Sean Brennan (18:18.4).

French finished in 82nd place, Mika in 96th, Kruetzfeld in 98th and Brennan in 103rd.

Patrick McConnell came in 127th at 19:00.2.

The Wildcats will race next at the Valley Oak League Meet No. 1 on Wednesday at Frogtown.
