Imagine feeling like a perfect game is within reach after rolling 10 strikes in-a-row, but then the 3-pin stubbornly doesn't go down on the 11th ball.

No doubt that would be very disappointing, which might express Darvis Lee's feeling last week after he just missed 300 with a 289 in the High Rollers league for the men's high game at Black Oak Lanes.

Lee also claimed the men's high series for the week - a 686 in three games.

It was nice to Joan Kasso back on the lanes in Young at Heart after taking more than a year off from competition. She finished her comeback week with the women's high series - a 591 - and was edged by just one pin out of claiming the women's high game, which went to Toni Sundling (Helakno Full House) with a 213.

Other notable scores included: Summer High Rollers-Ruth Benson 556, Robert Porovich 655; Summer Jokers Wild-Bobby Papapetrou 278/683, Jared Ford 267/650, Steve Feola 662; Helakno Full House-Bob Chambers 257, Les Olson 256/650.

Earning spots in the "I can't believe I beat myself" club were: High Rollers-Darvis Lee 84 pins over with 289, Frank Harris 75 pins over with 197; Young at Heart-Joan Kasso 165 over with 591; Summer Jokers Wild-Bobby Papapetrou 111/182 over with 278/683, Jared Ford 81 over with 267.

Uncertified leagues had the following high scores: 9-Pin No-Tap-Judy Mountain 274 (her highest game ever in the league), Terry Hall 695 series, Manny Brager 241/682; Wild Nite Out-Deedra Hope 164, Bonnie Warzee 425 series, Dale Robbins 190 and Albert Ramirez 541 series.

Answer: A program that aired on NBC called "The PBA Fall Tour."
