Cat girls beat Sierra, boys fall to Lathrop

The Sonora Wildcat girls got dialed in from long distance on Thursday night to defeat host Sierra 59-45.

Sonora hit seven from 3-point range, including three by Stephanie Chung and two each by Bailey Henington and Jessie Fong.

For the Wildcats (14-7, 6-4 Valley Oak League), Henington scored 13 points, grabbed four rebounds, dished four assists and made four steals, Chung tallied 12 points, Fong had eight points, five steals and four boards, Angela Gardella had eight points and eight rebounds, Leah Damnbacher had seven points and six boards, Maria Chacon had four points and four rebounds and Bryanna Owens grabbed eight rebounds and added four points.

The Wildcats have four games left in the regular season, with three this week and two at home. Sonora begins on Tuesday with a home clash against Lathrop before heading to Oakdale on Thursday and finishing with Kimball at Bud Castle Gym at 5 p.m.
