Claim Jumpers rally at home to upend Porterville

The Columbia Claim Jumpers ended Saturday's game on a 21-6 run to defeat Porterville 76-63 at Oak Pavilion.

Porterville held a 57-55 lead before the Claim Jumpers made their run.

Matt Ruesga scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds, DJ Muses scored 12 points and Ashton Richardson added 11 to lead a balanced Columbia scoring attack.

Two games into Central Valley Conference-play, Columbia and Fresno are on top and are the both without a league loss.

Porterville (0-14, 0-2 Central) was led by Juddon Carter's 25 points, including seven treys and Tyrone Hall's 20, including three from beyond the arc.

Also for Columbia (7-9, 2-0 CVC), Matt Iles scored eight points and hit a pair of 3s, Jarron Crump scored eight points, dished 10 assists and grabbed six boards, Danny Radford scored six points and pulled down five boards, Jalen Bourbon netted nine points and had four rebounds and Thomas Richardson scored four points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.

The Claim Jumpers next will visit Sequoias on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
