The Sonora Wildcat girls' water polo team had five players recognized recently for their outstanding efforts this past season.

Seniors Shelby Chung and Kacee Johnston and junior Ruby Personius all were named to the All-Valley Oak League First Team.

The trio led the Wildcats to within a breath of a postseason berth, falling out of contention in the final two games.

Also recognized were senior Marta Houghton and junior Bethany Smith who were awarded with honorable mention.
